Rio Tinto Group, the world’s third- largest mining company, raised its
agreed offer for Canadian uranium miner Hathor Exploration Ltd. (HAT) to
about C$654 million ($636 million) to fend off Cameco Corp. (CCO)’s hostile
bid.
Rio will pay C$4.70 a share, up from its previous C$4.15 offer, the London-

Cameco (CA:CCO 37.46, -0.07, -0.19%) (CCJ 36.53, -0.36, -0.98%) announced
today it has signed an agreement with China Guangdong Nuclear Power Holding
Co., Ltd. (CGNPC) to supply 29 million pounds of uranium concentrate under a
long-term agreement through 2025.

便看看就知道完全不值得推敲。
图例是2012年加拿大国民生产总值分类。整个资源开采行业只占总GDP的8%左右，其中
还并不都是出口的，真正出口矿产和石油类产品的占总经济的5%。
这是2012加拿大GDP-expenditure based分类,其中总出口产品占GDP的25%左右。

历史上，核能曾经是很热门的一个方向。特别是在70年代的
石油禁运后的一段时间内，氧化铀的价格曾经达到$30以上
一磅，但是后来石油禁运解除，加上核电厂的库存的增加，
价格开始逐渐回落，到1986年Chernobyl事件后，欧洲的核
电计划全部中断，铀进入了一个长达16年的大熊市。进入90
年代，苏联解体，开始销毁核武器，他们与美国的一个核燃
料公司签订了协议，把武器级核燃料用贫铀稀释为民用核燃
料，从而大大增加了市场上核燃料的供应，导致氧化铀价格
在$10/lb左右徘徊了十几年，最低曾经到2002年的$7/lb。在
这个价格背景下只有来自加拿大Athabasca的生产才能够生存，
因此造就了世界第一大生产商Cameco(CCJ, CCO.TO)。
2002年后，石油价格开始上升，另外现有的库存已经消耗得差
不多了，加上俄罗斯的核武器合同 |
