Defending the Indefensible?

When I was watching Sorkin’s Newsroom, i loved its wit. But i didn’t
relate too strongly with the show, because i didn’t really think the US
media is as bad as Sorkin was trying to portray: jaded, sensationalism,
interested in the rating only, not interested in exposing the truth.
In real life, none of the media focus has been anything I can vouch for, so

这个原因总结的根本不靠谱。
大家愤怒,焦点是因为付萍强奸历史(她的谎言所涉及历史远远超过文革时期)以为己
用,而不是什么任何人逆势而动,以" censorship, exaggeration or fabrication"来
对抗网上探求文革真相的潮流都会遭到“诽谤”之类。扯进大屠杀,波尔布特更是无稽
之谈。大家表达愤怒,自然有人用情绪化的简单方式,但也有很多以事实为根据逻辑缜
密思路清晰的篇章,跟"vilification"

引号里面都是引用Joe Nocera的,作者本人的观点很明确,那就是"This would be a
shaky defense of Fu if it were true. But it’s not."
第一,即使是真的,那也是shaky defense of Fu
第二,更何况不是真的
最后作者说"Anyone who challenges such a quest through censorship,
exaggeration or fabrication is going to be the subject of, to use Nocera’s
words, “unrelenting vilification.” Deservedly so.
Exaggeration or fabrication所指很明确啊

知道了,还帮丫贡献收视率了,虽然以前从来不看这脑残节目。如果BMW还是广告商,

Nobody cares what exact word did the kid or the host use. The real problem
is that this show is broadcasted on national TV, without any censorship. If
such discussion is about another minority group, related segment will be cut
for sure.
Mind you, this happened in a country where political incorrectness is
typically not tolerated.
