什么叫conservative 什么是他们坚持的,什么是大众有误解的
什么是真正的精神~
GOP到这届大选,都在嘴上宣传自己是true conservative
但没有人重提conservative 的精神本质,更不用说向independent去宣传了

(Fiscally) conservatives' problem is they, unfortunately for themselves and
for this nation, mingles with the social conservatives, and those social
conservatives are vocal, and the GOP choose/have to run on social issues,
and it becomes a major platform for the GOP, a litmus test. A big turn-off
for many moderates.
The liberals have their wingnuts too, but those are less vocal, and more
importantly, the Dems in general do not outrageously run on social issues. I
