哈哈，有点意思。
不过：妃=Princess？当然，中国这个搞法西方没对应的也是没办法。
courtesan就本意讲，应该比concubine高一些。西方封建制下，政府王家合二为一，在
court里面为王室服务的都可以称为是courtier。到文艺复兴的意大利，女性的
courtier，cortigiana（法语的courtisane，再转回英国就是courtesan了）就多指统
治者的情妇了。在后来就成了活动于上层社会的妓女。Concubine一直指的就是没法律
地位的小老婆，比中国的妾怕是还没法律保障。Consort就不一样了，本意就是合法伴
侣。王后在英语里的全称就是Queen Consort（和女王Queen Regent相对应）。Consort
这个翻译不好。Mistress的地位更疏远，地位最低基本合理。

princess还有公主的意思，容易混淆，不适合用来翻译妃嫔，看来只有在concubine上
动脑筋。
常在和答应兼有妃嫔的女侍的角色，用courtesan来翻译比较合适。
可以考虑以下方案：
一个方案：
皇贵妃 Grand imperial concubine
贵妃 Imperial concubine
妃 Concubine
嫔 Lieutenant concubine
贵人 Junior concubine
常在 Courtesan
答应 Lieutenant courtesan

好像皇贵妃是正一品？
嫔往下算妾，可以用Queen (这词怎么也没Empress的感觉）或者用Courtesan,
后面也加级别，
那些代表情妇的词不好用，没显出正式性伴侣，别人不能碰的特性 |

傳統中國，特別是漢族的民間佛教信仰，觀音菩薩是在所有的菩薩信仰當中流傳最為普
及的一位菩薩。印度傳來的觀音菩薩，原來大都以男性形象出現，根據學者的考證，大
概從宋代以後，觀音菩薩才漸漸的以女性的形象出現，並且有多種化身。其中之一尌是
