作为中国在海外矿产资源收购的急先锋，中国中钢集团(下称中钢集团)眼下正面临
着一次危机抉择。
危机来源于一个名叫恰那的澳大利亚铁矿(Channar)。这个年产量达1250万吨的矿
山，是中国冶金进出口公司(中钢集团的前身)于1987年11月，与澳大利亚CRA公司(力拓
公司前身)旗下专事铁矿石开发的哈默斯利铁矿公司(Hamersley)的合资项目。
在过去几年，恰那铁矿是这家进入财富500强的中国央企的重要利润来源之一。
本报记者从中钢集团内部获悉，由于20年的合约即将到期。此时力拓单方面提出了
续约条件，将收取每吨10美元的资源费和服务费。这逼迫中钢集团陷入两难。接受不仅
意味着利润尽失，还将承受未来铁矿石价格一旦回落，需要承担的巨大风险。
此时，令中钢集团名声大振的澳大利亚中西部矿业(9.50,-0.29,-2.96%)(Midwest)
项目，不仅尚处于投产建设阶段，一度面临资金链紧绷的状态。
令人担忧的还包括，澳大利亚矿业投资已趋于饱和状态，中钢集团一度引以为豪的
铁矿 |

1。Fisher Price Cra N Swing, bunny，去年亚马逊150刀来了，花了一晚上组装起来
，可买的晚了，娃用了一个月不到就outgrow了。。。基本上全新。100刀走。。

2。Changing table， Ikea来的，娃生下来后换尿布基本上都在床上或者沙发上进行，
所以基本没用过。99刀加税来的，70刀转。对上面的changing pad有兴趣的mm一共可以

CRA(Computing Research Association)曾经有过统计，PhD去工业界的比学校普遍高15-
25%，但我不记得是9个月工资还是实际的平均工资了。计算机工业界PhD的起薪大概在
十万到十二万之
间。 |

positions. |

positions, academic job of this area has been very tough for years in CS. At
least several friends of mine with very good publications are still
struggling with their PostDoc in top schools and waiting for opportunities.
Check cra this year, I saw a lot of security and data mining related, but
computer vision, one, or two, or three openings? |

I have been following the CRA list for three years. Few schools are looking for vision candidates. Only 3 or 4 schools this year if I remembered correctly. Way less than other areas.
Also keep in mind that the vision area is a relatively large area, so more
phds, more postdocs and many Chinese... |

。而且因为这个正式通过了全州公民公决成为州法。然后正在制定7个客观标准来选择
哪所（从7所里面），目前4个客观标准已经finalized (UH那个连接上有所有的信息）
，另外3个正在最后具体化（使其更具有操作性），因为这个法案是最近才通过的。 事
情就这样简单。
你整天蛮缠啥狗屁US News，天下人都知道US NEWS主要排本科（当然也有排单个研究生
项目），把你们rice排在前20，感觉很好是不是？ 博客力也在你们之后，估计不论US
news排的质量如何以及是否有利于私立（一些很主观评分被赋予很大的权值），很明显
的是，德州人民以及政府do not give a damn to the US news ranking. At least
the Texas Legislation and THECB do not want to use those US NEWS measures

发帖数: 289 | 32 这个路子就错了，你要和peer去比，而不是和已经在那里的人比，每年市场都不大一样么
读这个方向的博士很多，但教职opening很少，几乎木有，大部分都往large scale去靠
了，做传统问题的话就很难找。毕竟方向的重要性远大于publication，可惜图像还有
PR这不是个火的方向
排名方面说是说不介意，但其实cra上面也就那些，排名非常非常靠后的也不搞
research了。3，400的也不容易搞的。。。人也看方向看综合看paper的
反正你try了就知道了，就俩statement四封信 |

。这期间有幸拜访了8所学校，跟大约100位professors促膝长谈，感觉是一段奇妙的经
历，想发帖纪念一下。并且，之前从很多前辈的帖子里得到过很多帮助，也希望我的经
历也能对后来人有所帮助。
首先，在申请前我看了Philip Guo的文章（http://pgbovine.net/guo-faculty-job-search.pdf），感觉很有帮助。这篇文章对整个申请流程各个环节都有较详细的描述。版上之前有人推荐过，我这里再推荐一次，因为确实受益匪浅。
关于opening positions:
（1）我所有的职位信息都是从 http://cra.org/ads/ 上面得到的。可以subscribe，每天自动收到一封总结当天所有职位的email，很方便。不过这里只有和CS相关的职位信息。
（2）个人感觉研究方向是否符合market的大势很重要。印象中今年CS的很多职位都是
