permission from some ruling dancesport organization in Russia? Are there
quota for the number of pro couples who can represent a country? My guess is
no. I just remember reading somewhere, when slavik and karyna split and
found new partners, "if slavik couple dance for Russia, karyna couple will
dance for US", or something like that...

represent either one of the two countries (or so I believe). for the US, if
neither person is from the US, then I believe they would have to live in the
US for one year before they could represent the US. Louis van Amstel and
Karina Smirnoff-ice were such a case.
Bryan Watson and Carmen used to dance for Germany. Neither of them is German

bargain price chinese dance sneakers. never tried dance sneakers before
but from my experience with chinese practice shoes, i'd say it's worth

Dance sneakers have rubber soles, therefore they won't work for standard,
since when you try to squeeze your feet together or when you try to do a
spin, those rubber soles will glue your feet to the floor and it could be
dangerous, but as a beginner when you only try to learn the step, then they
could be fine, but as you get more into technique, you won't be able to move
in dance sneakers
If you want to do both dances with one pair of shoes, the best way is just
buy a pair of standard shoes.

lots of my girl teammates wear dance sneakers to parties or practice.
i've seen high level guys wear dance sneakers in parties. seems doing
fine with both latin and standard/smooth.
there are more spins in latin/rhythm than standard/smooth
i thought they all have suede soles...

when i watched myself dancing the first time, it was HORRIBLE.
i would say my dancing has improved, and probably less horrible, but still
not good to look at. So... i stopped taping myself after a while, hehe
just relax and enjoy the time you having with your partner...i guess that's
the most important part for me. and if it looks not that ugly to the
audience, i will take it as a bonus for me.

popularity of ballroom dancing pushed by the DWTS shows ... anyway, one
should always explore different stuff, instead of getting so hang up on one
thing.
I recently read about an interview with Allan Tornsberg, and his view on the
current state of competitive dancing is very much spot-on: it has become an
industry and is losing the artistic aspect of dance. |

outside of the narrow boundary i was drawing at that specific dull moment...
but i think on the dance scale of 0 to 100, social bronzers(from 0 to 10)
are probably more boring to their teachers than non-social novice dancers (
50-60??) to their teachers...because the former learns to dance while the
latter learns to dance beautifully. I don't know...just randomly spreaking..

I just move to LA from NY, NJ area. When I was in that area we usually
have a semi-group of people who like to dance. (swing, salsa, and some
American and Latin ballrooms) I am wondering whether in LA area we have the
similair group of people kept informed each other. Since in NJ, NY area they
usually announce the dance party informaton in the local Chinese newpaper
so the people will know.
By the way, I am not talking about the clubs like "dance star" or "lai
lai".

Although none of them are the top notch professionals, they are very good, patient, encouraging teachers (given that you don't have any dance background). even champ level ballroom dancers may not do better than she did. Her
chacha in Top4 was a big disappointment :( Her legs were mostly bent all
the time. Caitlynn and another top 20 girl did much better job. I've
noticed that most non-ballroom trained dancers on the show do well on Samba,
which I think is a harder dance than chacha.
This season has extraordinarily strong female dancers and Melanie and Sasha

Latin dances because of the "conversation factor?" Is that because of the

失望啊，里面跳得太难看了，Richard Gere的角色准备3个月就从舞盲到参加novice的比
赛了，实在是太搞了，（或者那个比赛的novice同大学比赛的novice意思不一样？），而
且他们背后那些对对都比他们那几个好，结果还是他们几个进了决赛，看得我狂ft.
里面确实有Slavic和Serena，在Richard Gere的同事带他去的那个舞会的一开始在一群人
围的一个圈子里跳了大概10秒钟镜头就换到别的地方去了
故事方面呢，基本是全盘照搬日本原版，还删除掉了一些原版里面比较关键的情节，另外
加重了Susan Sarandon的戏份，感觉里面配角都还不错，6 feet under里面的Richard
Jenkins在里面演那个私家侦探，Will&Grace里面演Will的男朋友的那个 |

It depends on the type of dance. For ballet,
"graceful" is a common adjective, but it probably
won't be the adjective of choice for break-dancing;
for the latter, maybe "acrobatic".
Some other words: agile, athletic, dirty, elegant,
fluid, hypnotic, nimble, rhythmic, sexy, seductive,
sultry, wild, ...
You can use "skillful" to describe the technical
or improvisational creativity of a dancer, and

The word "skilled" is not often used to described a dancer. Because dance is
usually considered to be highly technical (regardless of genre), the word "
technical" is often used to describe a highly trained dancer (although it
means the same thing as skilled). When you call someone a technical dancer,
you know he/she is good.
Techniques are only one aspect of dance. Presentation is equally important.

了舞蹈扫盲班，我也凑热闹参加了。虽然系里男女比例>5，但是参加扫盲课的男女比例
居然是9：7。不幸的是，7个女生都没有选择我。所以我就只能一个人跟着比划比划。
也算三步初级入门了。
不过，学校的某个食堂舞会虽然就在楼下，我却几乎从来没去过。那时候兴趣还不是
很高，只有元旦的狂欢夜，我跟着北京的帅哥一起买了票，在近万人群中狂吼乱舞。虽
然水平不怎么样，厚脸皮的我总能在N次邀请女生失败后成功一两次。午夜倒计时开始
前，我们狂吼国际歌。校园歌手在舞台上领唱，而我根本不会，只能跟着吼最著名的那
句英特纳修纳尔一定会实现。
跟着北京的帅哥们，我们找了一个又一个的联谊宿舍。最后，我们联谊宿舍落在了本
校。本校联谊宿舍里居然有我半个老乡（一个北京女生，祖籍是我家乡的），还是学校
艺术团的。虽然她们都是冲着宿舍两个北京帅哥来的，但是老乡对老乡的关怀还是有的
。在食堂舞会上，老乡热情教我跳舞，而且还不时夸奖我有乐感，一下子使我忘乎所以
，对舞蹈产生了极大的兴趣。可惜，老乡总是很忙，我们的帅哥又不是很积极，所以我

for this position. I am a classically trained ballet dancer, and I am also a
competitive ballroom/latin dancer. i have been dancing for many years, and i

and people, and I believe i will be able to make the dance board the biggest

这个电影，imdb只给了6.1分，是richard gere和jennifer lopez
合演的。gere适合演有那么点颓废，有那么点敏感，有那么点
温柔，有那么点寡断的角色。lopez是有点可怜兮兮的丑小鸭的
形象，在maid in manhattan里很突出。
step up是街舞，hip-hop类型的，和zumba有类似的地方。后来
出了3d版本。julia stiles演过一个电影，叫save the last dance。
如果谈到芭蕾的话，有不少值得看的电影，mao's last dancer，
是讲一个中国芭蕾舞演员的故事，发生在休斯顿，讲到了文化冲突
等问题。ball room的就是shall we dance（日本电影）和后来翻拍
的美国版本shall we dance。
zumba是新鲜事物，很动感，是一种健身舞蹈，风靡全世界，造成
了很大的影响，音乐也充满活力，适合5－500岁的人练习，可以
让自己神清气爽，精力充沛，我一直都尝试练它，希望志同道合的

了，如果有同学看过，一定会被其中的舞蹈惊叹不已。
我也说了我是因为张杰才从天涯八卦来百度张杰吧的，这个节目曾经让我不屑于〈
舞林大会〉和〈舞动奇迹〉，直到看到张杰，才发现国内竟然也有具备“so you think
you can dance”的精神的艺人，这个节目是全美数一数二的高手云集的舞蹈选秀。比
美国偶像还风靡一时。
或许张杰的技巧还没有达到高峰，这并不影响张杰的潜力，他的体形，力量，爆发
力，都是现在艺人很少具备的全能型。这么短短的训练他就能达到别人练几年的架势，
即便不说技巧，光气势，气质，舞者必须有的自信和收放自如的霸气，在这些方面丝毫
不输给专业的。
Las vegas培训的各种高手具备活力，张扬，自信和激情，关于这些的综合，我只
有在张杰身上看到。关于技巧，或许还需要更加的磨练。特别是在肌肉的爆发力上。
这个舞动奇迹的冠军跟DANCE比起来真的没什么含金量。如果硬要说，只能说大家
的努力才是值得赞叹的，但是这也并非客观上值得夸耀和同情。虽然努力不是必要条件
