在一份名为《Dirty Dozen》的网络安全报告者中，印度在本年度第三季度的垃圾邮件
发送数位居全球第一，占据了总量的16%。
这就意味着，全球的E-Mail用户邮箱中，每六封垃圾邮件中就有一封是由位于印度境内
的计算机所发送的。而这些邮件也自然成为各种计算机病毒传播的主要途径。
不过，该报告还指出，这些邮件并不全都是由印度的计算机原始编写发出，其中很大一
部分是经由被攻击的计算机通过僵尸网络转发的。因此，从某种意义上来说，印度还是
目前世界上最大的病毒及僵尸网络温床。
