打交道. 有时试图采用中国的方式以小恩小惠或金钱来换取daycare staff对自己孩子
的优待不但无效发反而助长他们的胃口, 有时甚至在daycare facility或犯错或违规时
只在这里发牢骚,抱怨,或者与对方争吵以至被对方恶人先告状, 等等.
所谓入乡随俗, 美国的法制相对较全, facility staff or facility itself 可能不
care我们当面提的建议, 但是他们不敢和authority呲牙. 我搜罗了几个州的政府监管
机构的信息.如果你要complain, 不妨试试也和监管机构反映.
另外, 大家也可以在诸多review/rating 网站对差劲的facility 写负评. 这个效果可
能慢一些, 差一些, 没有直接效果. 但长远上还是还是有用的. 希望大家别怕麻烦一定
要曝光不好的facility.

Bi-Facil Double-Action Eye Makeup Remove

在Lancome买了咚咚，拿到他家的睫毛膏(doll lashes)还有一个eye make up remove.
晚上卸妆的时候，用了一下.那天化妆除了睫毛膏，还用了primer, foundation, 和
concealer, 都是shiseido的。
用完lancome Bi-Facil eye makeup remove, 简直是惊为天人，不是俺卸了妆的脸，而
是这个eye makeup remove太好用了！！
之前用过不少牌子的卸妆水，还用过olive oil加honey, 每次卸妆都是据痛苦，卸妆棉
搽半天，再用卸妆水，再用洗面奶，都洗不干净Shiseido家的foundation 加concealer.
然后发现Lancome 这个卸妆水早就在Neiman Marcus网上的 Hall of Fame里了，俺真是

tenure track 的 AP 位置。由于地处偏僻，爱人很难找到合适的工作。
最近在爱人工作的城市周边50mile以内找到一个imaging core facility manager/
director 的工作，属于公立学校（rank~50）的下属center。主要做一些service，顺
便也能做些自己感兴趣的research。由于整个facility就我一个人，自由度比较大。可
以自己写grant，或者和别的PI一起申请funding，有grant之后可以挂research
faculty的title。
一直以来都想自己独立做科研。原本对于 TT AP 的位置很期待，也信心满满地准备接
受挑战。最近听了很多朋友以及做了faculty的师长关于AP，grant的抱怨，心里也就对
AP的未来有点没底。希望各位前辈对于这两个职业方向给予一些指点，将来会有什么样
的发展前景。

facility就你一个人， 估计你是没什么时间做自己的东西的， 不过大部分跟别人合作
， 也不错的， 个人觉得你这个位子， 想完全独立， 自己写grant，可能非常困难，
上司也不会鼓励你做这样的事。
这种位子去工业界非常容易， 可能比ap都容易
家庭因素算上， 选core facility基本是 no-brainer |

有办公楼（1-N个， 给officer的），storage facility（1-N个， 收录 case 文件用
的）。只有需要审理的（排期C了比如）的文件，才会每天由专车拉到办公楼，分配给
officer。如果排期不C，或者审理完毕的文件，又拉回storage。
所以， 你的文件还在 库存里， 现在他们准备去翻出来审理。 稍等2-4 weeks，再看
看有没有case update。如果没有，找议员催。 |

系里给的start up里包括了这个设备，我最近正在货比三家。买是肯定要买，但是购买
周期比较长，现在开始找quote到手也得明年开春了。
那么设备到手前投proposal（nsf / nih），facility list要写有呢，还是写没有呢，
还是写现在没有但是如果你们给我钱，钱来的时候肯定就有了？

Resources" page），列上仪器（有你合意的公司的仪器型号也许更好），然后注明
included in start-up fund, currently in bidding process 之类的。
如果这个仪器很关键，那么在 proposal 里面相关实验设计的地方也可以简单提一句（
The PI's lab is currently acquiring #### and will have the capacity to
conduct #### shortly 之类的）。 |
