确定好薪水什么以后，如果背景调查没有问题的话决定是肯定要了，这样才可以进行这
步。应该算是合情合理的要求。 |

联邦政府雇员工资就是政治正确的产物，体力劳动比如扫地之类的工资比社会平均水平
高，脑力劳动比如搞研究象梁这样的，工资比社会平均水平低，这样整体工资水平不高
，好处是平衡了公众的嫉妒心理，坏处就是留不住人才，让政府机构的工作能力越来越
差，这类违法的事情也会越来越多。
梁这个事是他自己太愚蠢，实际上利用内部消息FDA这类事绝对不少，我参加过一些
consulting company的会，会上某些分析员连FDA的一些审批细节比如下一步
的具体批准日期都能判断到一天不差，这要没有内部消息怎么可能？

弊有哪些？ 工资应该没有药厂那么高，也不给办绿卡，要自己办绿卡。不知道在
fda好办绿卡吗？ 前面看到一个兄弟说只能办eb1和niw？这是什么？展开说说。

to be the faculty. The salary definitely is less than 90K even he starts as
the associate professor. Too many PHDs in FDA on routine work and not much
freedom as in academia. |

你老公要是强的话拿到offer以后和学校谈spouse hire，到时候你就可以一起去了。不
过spouse hire的职位可能就不一定是AP了，也可能是instructor。取决于你老公有多强
了。这样的话去fda见见世面也挺好啊 |

就是不知道找工作这种interview talk要不要打报告。。。
主要是我没有药厂工作经验
学的其实也不是生统 是应数，现在postdoc做的应该算bioinformatics
所以去外面找药厂感觉没这方面经验也不容易
正好有fda的机会 感觉可以去学些东西 至少可以了解药厂做些什么 |

outside activity都要报批的 |

发帖数: 3156 | 29 我觉得不算。outside activity应该是指那种比较固定的相当时间参与的activity, 比
如说学校Ph.D. program的committee member或者杂志的editor之类的。
我觉得你不用担心太多。从FDA出去的人也有一些，找研发工作给talk那么普遍，难道
个个都打报告？哪怕这个算outside activity, 实际上肯定就是一灰色地带。
前面那个说fellow的讲的不准确。他把staff fellow当成ORISE fellow了。有绿卡的
title就是staff fellow。转了公民以后就进入正式的GS system。但是staff fellow的
工资待遇也是参照GS的，所以即便你不是公民，谈工资的时候也是说多少grade, 多少
step. |

如果你是绿卡或者H-1, 你不算在GS系统里，有个另外的名字，AD, administrative
determined, 其实是参照GS的，拿绿卡的是staff fellow, 拿H-1的是visiting
scientist, 公民是GS, 大家在工资当面并没有什么差别，都是根据你的经验背景来定
的。
统计中国人最多了，你去的组里很多中国人这一点也不奇怪。
FDA工作的好处是轻松, work life balance很好，福利一般。很适合女生，稳定轻松，
可以有更多时间顾家。如果你是能力强喜欢自己hands-on做事情的人，那你恐怕呆不住。 |

interest, especially when the public interest is in conflict with the
corporate interest. Simply take a look at the resume of those high
level FDA officials, and you will see a pattern ;) It's almost like
