这几天我一直忙着做网站。
Discontinuous的目的好处:
1 flux control across inter-element boundaries,这样有利于local
conservation; local conservation is beneficial for a better nature of the
discrete system, so that less iterations are required for convergence. also,
flux control is essential for shock/crack caturing schemes.
2 有利于并行计算; the reason behind is a little sophisticated but numerical
practice obviously demonstrates this fact.

手机的问题是进入3G时代,想要模仿MTK做turnkey solutions的已经不行了,因为大家
都跳不过Qualcomm的专利授权,已经很难模仿MTK山寨手机的成功经验了。
正如你所说,这个也需要一大帮人做,BP, AP,FEM什么东西要操心的太多了,不太可
能有startup能做, 要是能做一部分就很不错了

MTK自己在做一个集成的东西.应该是买了搞通的授权了.

手机的问题是进入3G时代,想要模仿MTK做turnkey solutions的已经不行了,因为大家
都跳不过Qualcomm的专利授权,已经很难模仿MTK山寨手机的成功经验了。
正如你所说,这个也需要一大帮人做,BP, AP,FEM什么东西要操心的太多了,不太可
能有startup能做, 要是能做一部分就很不错了

那不刚好去CST?他们家的FDTD solver很棒。你这挺对口的。我知道很多SI组需要FDTD
FEM coding,不过知道的人都是博导们被推荐进去的,自己找的话困难,因为没有推
荐就没有credibility。这种专业领域只认实验室牌子不认学校牌子。慢慢找吧

hehe,虽然是个伪命题,大家都讨论的不亦乐乎啊~
不过你的假设是错的,相对于现在手机的尺寸,覆铜很难作为一个有效的射频地,所以
手机天线的设计一定要在初始阶段就要考虑电路板的形状。这个导致基于2维无限地的
Method of moment其实不是很有效的仿真,修改后基于多层substrate的greens'
function的MoM软件好像也不是很准确。基于FDTD或者FEM的就有比较好得结果了。
另外,就算作为一般的analog ground或者digital ground,现在复杂电路板的power
plane/bus和ground plane都不能再认为是理想了,大量的power integrity软件就是为
了解决这些plane perforation, parasitic inductance, plane capacitance的问题了
,设计不好,电路通过这些覆铜的互相干扰还是很严重的~

天线,公司等背景吸引眼球而已. 能够起到抛砖引玉的作用,看到这么多有趣的回复,我
恨高兴.

手机的地都是电池的负极.本身就是一层层材料卷起来的,面积很大.
PCB覆铜啥的,对电池负极的电压影响应该是微乎其微的吧.

小弟做过很多基于machine learning的医学图像(segmentation, tracking),mesh的
processing和FEM的simulation的GPU算法
现在拿到两个postdoc的offer,一个学校一般,不过是医院,做的是纯粹的CT的重建,
目的是强化重建图像清晰度和减少放射量
另一个学校很好,做的是基于图像的软组织的力学特性建模和流体的simulation
基本上一个是上游:medical imaging,一个是下游:biomechanical simulation

Now I am engaged in a research project which is supported by GM. I can
choose using FEM to do stress accumulation analysis during cycling or focus
on alloy design which is more related to material science. I like them even
but I am not sure which one helps more to find a job in the future.
Can anybody provide me suggestions which aspect I should concentrate on? Or
is there any other good research area about SMA?

you can use sum to approximate integral anyway.
I just want to say usually people don't treat the solutions of
FD equations as piecewise linear functions. But in FEM, they do.

是不是大部分工程问题里的偏微分方程都能用有限元来解呢?我现在经常碰到一些工程
上的优化问题,很多人用迭代法求解,比如conjugate gradient, LBFGS等等,但是也
有一些论文是用有限元来解的,所以我很迷惑,连续函数优化问题里的代价函数和偏微

代价函数E(u)做变分之后就得到偏微分方程的弱形式(F(u),v) = L(v),
也就是所谓的Euler-Lagrange方程
由此可以用有限元来解

FEM originated from Galerkin's method in mechanics,
now it's been used in everywhere where problems can be modelled by
PDE's, such as in finance, in biomedical, in geophysics, every
branch of physics, etc..
