FLORIDA不熟,SOUTH FLORIDA真是很烂很烂.在MIAMI时,经常在医院都能见到吸大麻的中
学生,PITTSBURGH几个月也见不到一个.
2.PITTs对RESEARCH的支持很好,到UPMC拿数据有一套系统,基本上一步步很轻松.
在MIAMI是做毕业论文拿数据要动用私人关系,那叫一个费劲.
3.PITTS非常CHEAP,给的工资START UP基本上是最低的.给几万刀START UP然后让人
拿了RO1才给TENURE.基本上我们专业在PITTS能拿到TENURE的话回FLORIDA可以做
ASSOCIATE DEAN.PITTS的医疗退休福利也没有FLORIDA好.
4.PITTSBURGH的交通没有那么差,FLORIDA的大学城很无聊.
5.PITTSBURGH周围玩的多点,CENTRAL FLORIDA只有一个ORLANDO.去了10次8次以后就腻
了.不过PITTSBURGH冬天下雪很麻烦.

到florida的EIT。我就申请endorsement。Florida好像是非常严格。我国内的学位公证
后还差一门化学科。我打电话给公证公司。他们告诉我只要补上化学课就可以了。然后
去Local的大学补了。今年一月我的申请竟然还是被board拒绝。被告知我永远拿不到
Florida的EIT。因为我是在texas考的试。我的学位公证公司结论是不accredit abet
equivalent。我说我已经补了化学课了。一来公证公司说这可以。二来我知道有人也是
补了一定的课才可以在Florida考试的。这说明只要补课就行了。那个处理EIT申请的女
人态度极其恶劣，得到的回答是你是在Texas考的。不行。我说先考试后补课，和先补
课后考试有什么区别，再说考试又是全国统一的。她根本不回答问题。就是重复说，根
据Florida law。你的degree不equivalent。你不可能得到EIT。然后说你考PE没有问题

发帖数: 4571 | 45 首先感谢钓鱼迷的热情帮助和技术支持，使我能成行，并收获颇多。
先说明一点，我钓鱼喜欢尝试不同的钓法，钓不同的鱼。基本上我只对没钓过的鱼和没尝试过的钓法感兴趣，不刻意追求大小。刚开始海钓时，决定把New England所有能钓的鱼都钓个遍。除了tuna，此目的早就实现了。从北向南，钓过ME, NH, MA, RI四州. NY的长岛也钓过几次，包括去年的Montauk之行。后来，就逐渐开始计划游钓东海岸。但考虑到时间有限和我感兴趣的没钓过的鱼在Florida都能找到，决定游钓Florida。经过钓鱼迷的指点，最终锁定在南FL，并由他提供全面支持。
FL是钓鱼的天堂。烧钱而且最简单的玩法，就是花钱找个guide, 包个船，直接把你带到你喜欢的big game fish前，然后你只管fight, 最后拍张抱着大鱼的照片，回去show off, 比大小。基本上，你交钱就能买到你的目的和照片，但也失去了研究和寻找的乐趣。另外的玩法就是我比较喜欢的一点点的玩不同的鱼，体会不同的钓法。这才是我所enjoy的fishing。虽然我的dream之一是fly fishing tarpon, 但最终还是决定先... 阅读全帖 |
