UPPER PENINSULA
Michigan’s annual fall color show is on the move. The Western Upper
Peninsula is now past peak with most of the bright colors of fall having
begun to fade. However, there’s yet enough color variation to make this
area still well worth the drive.

to see large foliage, area by area, forest by forest.
The real foliage disappointed me a little. Those areas of foliage are just
like the big canvas painted by a little boy, lack of enough hierarchy. True,
no one can control the nature to make those huges areas of foliage delicate.
Some single tree was attractive. You could see its leaf from light yellow,
light red to dark yellow, dark red, little by little. With the suns |

weather of this past weekend. Near-peak to full color change is expected
along the spine of the northern Green Mountains and is beginning to emerge
in the central Vermont valleys.
This week, Vermont State Foresters and the New England Maple Museum suggest

Update for Saturday's 康州行程：
1。希望大家提前出发到Essex 吃午饭，这样就不会耽误火车。十点钟从波士顿出发，
十二点到达。吃午饭。you have to get there by 1:30PM SHARP to get the tickets
(One Railroad Ave, Essex, CT)
2。康州赌场行程是选项，各车以车为单位可自行安排。Seanson's Buffet costs $25
per person. 可以选择别的餐馆如果你嫌贵的话。参观一下赌场也蛮有意思的。从赌场

山看红叶。group里好几个康州同胞说要去；版上有兴趣的朋友也可以参加。Sleeping
Giant有很多trails，标记明显，自己走也很容易。另外Sleeping Giant志愿组织也有
爬山活动，这周日是introductory hike，三小时左右；28号是看红叶的hike；11月18

Amherst,Mohawk trail。。。或者blue hill, 如果同时想爬山 (more than blue hill
)，可以去monadnock，不算太远。

而之所以叫做peninsula, 就是因为密西根的上半岛几乎是被湖包围着.

pictured rocks, 虽然没有看到传说中的北密秋色，但和密西根的小伙伴们玩的也挺

turns as wonderful as that of 302 or 93 in New Hampshire. I went to the
Silver Lake in Berlin today. Even it is windy and cloudy, the view from the
west lakeside to the mountains of the east is breathtaking. Also, on 91
southbound, the mountain on the left side between Meriden and Middletown (
exit 20 and 19) looks quite spectacular, too.

This week, Michigan’s fall color display continues to make a slow, but
graceful, advance across the Upper Peninsula, where peak conditions are
still two to three weeks away. Many of the region’s trees are stressed;
resulting in only a hint of color change is reflected in the area.
Chippewa County is predicting bursts of color for this approaching weekend.

发帖数: 818 | 43 Plenty. Highway 169 between Mankato and Twin Cities just outside of the metro has some nice roadside foliage sections but you have to wait another 2-4 weeks. Duluth is a good place to see nice colors but the peak may be 2-3 weeks away.
Multiple state parks along highway 61 (along Superior Lake) have ones of the
most beautiful foliage lookouts. Some parks on the north east of the
arrowhead region (such as the Grant Portage, Cascade River) are peaking
shortly.
