很小的时候看过的《Star Wars》，后来陆陆续续看过一些novelization和属于legends
的外传，关于Sith的起源等等，玩过一些星战游戏，但是都没有很系统地钻研这个系列。
最近在跟娃们一起看《Clone Wars》系列，就跟娃一起补了一下课，把《Star Wars》
里面的Canon都又复习了一遍，从图书馆借来了六部蓝光收藏版，把deleted scenes和
制作过程的记录片也看了一遍，包括演员采访，卢卡斯访谈，还有visual artists的访
谈等等。
这卢卡斯不近就靠这个系列吃了一辈子，还养活了一堆人，包括做电影的，写小说的（
以Star Wars fictional universe为题材的小说就不下一百本，当然，大多数都只有
legends的地位，canon还是原来的那几个电影加上《Clone Wars》的电视系列片。
关于星战人物背景和武器装备已经有无数的coffee table books了，最近在图书馆找到
一本星战和地球历史背景的书，跟娃们一起过了一遍。

faculty来说可以算是很牛B了，但是对于老方这种senior的已经搞了一辈子的人来说，
就只能算so so。不要说是院士，离aps fellow的级别也还差了不少。引用率最高的一
篇文章还是95年到了arizona之后跟老外合作的，被引118次，这也是方唯一一篇被引用
上百次的文章。可见方励之89之前确实没有做出过什么重要的工作，他的名声和地位绝
对是靠政治得来的，当然其中部分的也是80年在中国搞科普所得，必须承认科普工作也是
有重要的社会意义的。
(BTW，有人说你这个搜索未必完整。不错，确实不能保证100％毫无遗漏。但是我

11 月 15 日，总部位于丹佛的 Boom Technologyy公司 ，在丹佛的百年机场，首次展
示了它的超音速载人飞机原型“Baby Boom”，外观十分酷炫，大小约为拟建的超音速
喷气式飞机（“Boom”飞机）的三分之一，使用了通用电气生产的发动机，霍尼韦尔生
产的航电设备，腾卡特生产的碳纤维外壳和蓝力制造的复合材料骨架。
实际生产型的Boom会有45个座位。
为了节约重量，座位只有标准国内航班的头等舱水平，不能放倒平躺。

向前迈进了一步，旗下维珍银河(Virgin Galactic)的亚轨道太空船“进取号”(又名太
空船二号)近日在美国进行了首次单独试飞。
据报道，当地时间10月10日试飞当天，运载飞机“白色骑士二号”在美国加州把“
进取号”送到1万3715公尺的高空。“进取号”随即脱离母机，在两名机师操纵下，独
自飞行11分钟，然后降落在莫哈韦沙漠的跑道上。
“进取号”这次试飞全程持续了大约25分钟，试飞的三个测试重点：脱离母船、独
自飞行、滑行降落都成功完成。
维珍银河总裁怀特塞兹说：“它飞得相当漂亮。”
此前，“进取号”都是附在“白色骑士二号”的翅膀上飞行，星期日是它首次“单
飞”。在最新试飞中，“进取号”并没有点燃自身火箭向太空爬升。维珍总裁布兰森说
，“进取号”将进行多次单独试飞，才能进入试射火箭的阶段。
