美国食品暨药物管理局(FDA)前华裔化学家梁诚一(Cheng Yi Liang，音译)，因屡次利用与职务有关的非公开资料从事内线交易，5日获判五年徒刑。他从内线交易获得的380万元非法利益也被下令没收。
助理司法部长布鲁尔(Lanny Breuer)说：「梁诚一利用在FDA担任化学家接触的敏感内线资料，从制药业股票市场获得不法利益。他多年来利用在FDA的职务在股市轻易赚钱，可是今天的判刑显示这种做法的后果。」

发帖数: 28562 | 21 没这回事。象几个人已经指出的那样，你一旦转成H-1B or J-1，你就再也
不能使用OPT了。
一般都是先用OPT过渡，因为H-1B办起来需要时间
另外，楼上几个人关于OPT 和H1-B的工资的说法貌似理解有误。
对于学术界，H1-B并不适用于那个普通的prevailing salary, 虽然也有一个
参考值，但是非常的低，比NIH guideline还低。
而很多学校因为遵守NIH guideline, 不管博士后是什么签证（H-1B, OPT or J-1）都
必须在某个工资线上。所以这个签证区别不一定有什么意义。
而且楼主的老板应该在楼主签合同的时候就会谈妥具体工资数目并写入合同，
不可能入职之后突然改低。
而使用OPT的话，如果途中由于不愉快而需要换实验室的话，不需要另外
办理签证手续，而且没有离境压力。其实客观上是一种保护机制。 |

发帖数: 53 | 23 胖老师说的蛮中肯的了，看到你后面的帖子说你还为手下办H1B, 能做到这个的PI（不
管中国人外国人），已经很仁义了。
但是其中还是有些问题我觉得PI可以做得更好一些，至少和我们博后共同努力一下慢慢
改变这个大环境。我自己本身没有申请过R01，但是我自己写过也拿到过其他的grant，
不管什么mechanism，budget都是PI自己写的，budget下面有很大的篇幅用来写
justification。希望每一个PI尽可能利用这个空间develop自己的budget，就像对待自
己的研究一样，有理有据，有hard evidence（比如说NIH salary guidelines，还有自
己学校的regulation）。要多少钱跟资历有关系，跟实际需要也有关系。
对事不对人，NIH现在确实很无耻，给钱给的不够，但是应该include在自己的budget里
面的cost，PI还是多从自己的人角度着想，毕竟你要少了，他们也不会多给你一些机会
，这项打分的时候，还是看justification写的好不好吧。要换个角度说如果我直接去
给PO打电话说钱太少了，估计也是会被人轰走的。

，一个图片transformation, 我就加了loop,就是transform完了，又重新开始。。。一
开始印度grader居然因为这个给我扣分，恶心死我了。后来第二个作业也是，老师没规
定performance时间，只要转换没有错误就ok了，结果又给我扣分，说我太慢，也没说
到底要求多快我是和要求差多少，grading guideline上都没有时间这一条
最后都被我要回
建议国人不用对烙印客气
我们呢上个学期还有一门课，一个烙印从一个grader那边问来答案然后改试卷去另一个
grader那边要分数，两次考试都这样，最后被graders发现了还厚脸皮一直来着不走。
。。。国人就是对烙印太客气，这样都不通报给老师
看看现在工业界烙印抱团现象，国人真的要醒悟，没必要对烙印客气，恨恨地对他们，
她们比我们阴得多 |

entire circuit. For a given material, resistance is a product of length and
thickness. For this reason, lower impedance speakers require lower
resistance speaker wire.Longer cable runs need to be even thicker. Once the

只是代缴property tax和homeowner insurance。主要是保护银行自己的利益，尤其是
在loan to value比例高的时候。如果客人不买保险，真有个意外，银行的损失比房主
大。代缴property tax是银行怕foreclosure的时候才发现房主欠了n多property tax需
要银行给填上。
无所谓大银行，小银行，都是为了规避类似风险。大银行guidelines紧，规矩严，可能
相对来说对escrow松些；小银行一定要escrow，不过，它们放贷款的guidelines也会松
些。
有些州不论escrow与否在rate上都有一定的adjustment，但差距很小，所以大部分
borrower倾向于选择不escrow税和保险。另外一些州，如果选择escrow就根本没有在
rate上的adjustment，所以大部分borrower为了好的rate而选择escrow。 |

给的 FHA estimate 是按几个月前 guideline 算的，10 月开始有新的 guideline。
FHA 的话，有 1% UFMIP（upfront fee），也就是多了 2580，加到 loan amount 里了
。但是月供比 conventional 低 25 块左右， 大概 5 年才能 breakeven 这个cost。
而且 FHA 的 MIP 有 5 年要求，如果一两年内有余钱付 principle，conventional 是
更好的选择。
如果房价利率都跌，你还是可以 refinance FHA loan。 Conventional loan 要 refi
的话需要 appraisal， 如果underwater，还要再贴钱进去才能 refi。 |
