标 题: 挖个坑，我觉得在美的中国博士后中，土博唯一劣势是英语水平

土博往往没有考过GRE， TOFEL，也许英语还停留在大学二年级水平（六级？）
单词量，听力，会话能力等都和美国PhD没法比，
做postdoc不需要上课，考试，
英语因此也提高不多。
因此，英语水平低导致土博很难在美国找到faculty的位置，
我觉得美国的学位的重要性被片面扩大了。
至于其他天赋，各人勤奋程度各有千秋吧。甚至，我感觉土博更勤奋一些，因为国内读
博士的，往往已经习惯以实验室为家了，美国PhD能玩能乐，日子过得悠闲一些，也许
效率比较高一点。
美国PhD的另外一个好处是有博士老板撑腰，network比土博好一点。
以guo xf 未能当上美国的faculty为例就是一个证明。
据说guo xf只联系了Top20的大学化学系，如果拿个一般的美国offer不在话下。

多说了。分享一些自己的经历。
我就不说我的case到底是弱还是弱了。Ph.D. in CS，Paper 19， citation 20左右，
review 10。我在联系郭律师 (Daniel Guo Law)的同时也联系了另外三个传说中的律所
，还有老板请的律师，都做了evaluation。所有的答案告诉我都是我这个case还是不要
考虑EB1B了，因为太弱，还是重点做NIW。只有郭律师在evaluate我的案子的时候跟我
电话联系，然后问了一些详细情况以后鼓励说可以试试，希望超过6成。6成对我来说已
经超过值得试一试的标准了。
