我一般是随便搜个当地的房子，然后看看是哪个小学，名字加上schooldigger搜索，然
后在schooldigger上面把附近的小学都顺便看一下，人口比例，师生比例，free lunch
多少， 排名等等。 然后也google一下有些什么review。 当然能找到local的问是最好
的了，可以问到学校的文化，家长参与程度，field trip 以及afterschool的具体情况
。
你估计是准备长期待芝加哥的吧。 现在是buyer's market，选择余地挺大也挺好的。
不然跟人家抢了半天，最后抢在高点上也挺郁闷的。 Hinsdale那么好的区肯定不会崩
的。 |

题。很多人搬到郊区就是为了找个好的社区环境raise family,住个大点的房子，让孩
子上个好一些的学校。好的学区也基本是这些大house的地产税support起来的。
如果在redfin.com上search最近几年>3500尺 & >$500K(地产税基本一万四五以上）成
交的房子。你会发现好的社区和好的学区基本是高度一致。
北郊的new trier 覆盖了kenilworth, wilmette, glencoe; Stevenson 涵盖了buffalo
grove, long grove,lincholnshire;北郊其它nice社区和学区重合的还有highland

发帖数: 36302 | 29 住HINSDALE，开车走OGDEN进城的话就是30分钟，OAKBROOK 31街进城的话也是30分钟。
我有一天下午从城里回来，走LOCAL，就是一直跟着一辆CL550从城里一直跟到他在BURR
RIDGE PLAINFIELD路边那个估计价值千万以上的豪宅。
HINSDALE CENTRAL的ASIAN比例比HINSDALE 小学初中的比例高太正常了，因为很多
ASIAN住在WESTMONT或是其他便宜的TOWN，高中也属于HINSDALE CENTRAL。
但是小学不算。
HINSDALE有些片的小学ASIAN确实很少，因为你从那些街道过，就看不到有亚洲人住在

live in Oakbrook and hinsdale, so houses are more expensive than nearby.
Schools are also good. Although westmont is next to hinsdale, houses are
much cheaper with a lot of non-Asian minorities living in westmont and going to Hinsdale schools. More mid-class
live in Lisle and Naperville. But these two towns maybe a little bit

发帖数: 4 | 38 我对芝加哥非常熟悉。 西郊的hinsdale 不错，你的预算只能买到不是很好的位置的房
子。 如果你可以看看western springs, 你的选择就多了。
hinsdale 现在有一个房子，我觉得你可以考虑，你可以用5万把里面全部remodling 一
遍，就会相当棒。 关键学区非常好，blue ribbon, 而且交通好，走路到metra
station.
oak brook 我不推荐，因为交通不是很好，而且community 不是很children friendly
，比较的casual, 而hinsdale 就比较sophisticated, 对孩子的成长非常好。
另外，买房子的时候，注意property tax, 非常重要。 hinsdale 的property tax 整
体比其他的比例还是好。

data. It's actually for the class of 2013. It was a banner year for them
with 9 getting admitted to Harvard, that's why they put the info up to there
.:-) Normally the number would be 5 or 6. Of course it's still very
impressive. The data for Hinsdale were for intention to attend at the
reporting time. You may have multiple offers, but only one to attend. They

would consider to live in hinsdale when they are still driving a car
less than $30K. there are about 20% asian in hinsdale central HS. I don't
know why it is so high when roughly 95% are white kids in hinsdale middle
and elementary schools. I guess some asian parents are renting just for
their kids going to HS. Another reason may be the chinese and indian village in westmont: ASHFORD.

是架不住hinsdale上班方便啊。我也考虑naperville，但是一想到老公要是去芝大上班
，单程1个多小时就打退堂鼓。我自己上班30-40分钟单程也不容易。到底hinsdale这个

择的医生的医院看病。HMO对医院本身没有限制。应该CHICAHO所有的医院都收BCBS HMO
的。
但是，你选择的医生如果是只大医院的，那么你就不能去西北大学医院。但是你随时都
可以换医生/医院。你可以今天选择西北的医生，明天选择只大的医生。只要在BCBS网
上换一下就是了。这没有任何问题。
而且ER就没有限制。你可以去任何一家ER看病，当然你的医生不希望你这样。我家在
NAPERVILLE，我的医生以前是HINSDALE医院的，我孩子有什么病，我都是直接送EDWARD
医院，我才懒得开40分钟去HINSDALE。保险从来没有拒付过。
当然啦，如果我们被收进医院住院部，那么第二天就必须转到HINSDALE医院去了。否则
保险就不付了。 |
