把洛杉磯港和長堤港搞到癱瘓的八天罷工落幕，如果要問誰是贏家，毫無疑問屬於工會
。不過任何談判不能只有一方讓步，勞方還是給資方一些「小甜頭」做為下台階，例如
居然「恩准」船運公司未來四年來最多可外包14名作業員。
這次發起罷工的是國際碼頭工會（ILWU）63分會（Local 63）的作業員支會（OCU）。
國際碼頭工會有4萬2000會員，60個分會分布加州、俄勒岡州、華盛頓州、阿拉斯加、
夏威夷，洛杉磯和長堤有13和63兩個分會。63分會的作業員支會號稱有800會員，但此
次參與罷工的只有450人。他們人數雖少，但一旦罷工，工會其他1萬「碼頭弟兄」跟著
響應，事情就變大條，老闆非讓步不可。
隨著罷工談判，作業員的優渥待遇福利再度曝光，真的令人羨慕。作業員是內勤工作，
不像碼頭工人那樣出賣勞力，不過必須勞心。他們的主要工作包括處理發貨單和收帳單
、安排海關來碼頭抽檢、確保貨輪迅速離港和順利抵達下一站。
不過說穿了，這些工作透過電腦，其實人不必非在港口現場，很適合外包給外州和外國

洛杉磯、長堤港罷工風潮終於平息。面對連日來各界撻伐，部分華資公司工人表示壓力
很大，稱外界對工會有所誤解，並表示，本次罷工的最大意義在於保衛即將消失的工作
，而非爭薪水和福利。
對外界批評碼頭工人「坐領16萬高薪、福利又好卻愛鬧事」，「工會排外、壟斷碼頭工
作機會、沒有內部人士介紹進不去」，「工會用保留名額的手段搞世襲制，父傳子、子
傳孫」等，多名華資公司工會成員6日表示，以上說法都外界對工會的誤解。
一家華資海運員工舉出新合約，稱碼頭工人年薪是8萬而非外傳的16萬，謠言膨風了一
倍。另家海運員工指出，本次罷工不是為爭薪水和福利，是為了捍衛即將消失的工作，
因為資方有意以遇缺不補的方式，將工作外包，未來碼頭工人工作機會將受威脅。
員工表示，公司1996年時還有11名碼頭工人和行政人員，近年三名碼頭工人陸續退休，
工作量越來越大但資方卻遇缺不補，甚至行政工作外包到海外「對資方來說這只是生意
，對我們來說卻是生死攸關的事。不起而抗爭，我們就會被消滅。」

nobody on the dock to unload cargo. The ILWU is the epitome of unions that
have become roadblocks for economic growth by holding the rest of the
society hostage so that their unreasonable demands could be met. What a

just look at uaw. it has become another small rich group.
read the news you will find tons of stories that police/fire fighter
unions declined the proposal to give up pay raise in very difficult
times.
and the government has to lay[corrected] off police. remember US
government is the most
union friendly employer in the US. more than 30% of the public workers
are
unionized.
