interview呢？
我一周前有一个phone interview， 本来我自己的感觉还不错，电面之后很快写了
Thank you E-mail. 电话快结束时，hiring manager说他还要再给别的候选人打电话。
他希望尽快把面试的事情搞好，10月份要人开始工作。hiring manager和我聊了近50分
钟，虽然大部分时间都是他在讲。他连公司应该会给我出搬家的钱都提到了。
但是到现在了hiring manager没有再和我联系了。我一直以为谈的这麽好，至少应该给
我一个on site的机会吧。
找工作最近一段时间，就这个还算有希望的。我也知道自己应该平常心对待，可是随着
时间的推移，心情越来越沮丧。最近搜索引擎上新贴出来的和我相关的职位并不多。
想知道前人的经验是怎麽样的。多谢回复！ |

几个人面谈，几点到几点和谁谈。 有些问题请教：
1）因为是午后开始interview， 没有写吃饭怎么安排，是不是就需要自己解决？
2）这么热的天，必须要穿西服么？
3）没有说要准备presentation, 还有必要准备么？

发帖数: 117 | 4 现在工作还比较满意，也没有打算想换工作。但最近有几个recruiter发信给我，要我申请他们的公司，说可以安排phone interview。有个local的公司甚至说可以直接
onsite。
我本来想，正好重新复习一下自己的一些interview的知识。但后来发现，准备
interview也是需要花很多时间的，会耽误一些我手头的工作。而且如果一旦失败，可能会有一段时间（一年，一年半？）不能重新申请。以后真想换工作的时候，这可能还是个负面因素。
各位有什么建议？多谢了。 |

freeze了，丢了已经schedule的onsite，希望这个我会有好运气。
现在已经下了飞机，睡了一个香觉，在hotel里准备technical presentation的PPT，求
版上兄弟姐妹的祝福:-)
另外，我有一个疑问，根据onsite interview的安排，我要先做一个45分钟（30分钟讲
+15分钟问答）的technical presentation，其中经理和另外四个人在场。紧接下来还
有4个分别和那4个人一一单挑的面试，每个都是45分钟，中间再加上一个和经理1个小
时的lunch interview。我问小秘这5个接下来的interview的格式和内容，她说“I can
't tell you that”，请大家分析一下，这个5个面试的内容和格式应该是怎样的，如

但事实上是他；所以这时候你可能悲翠了，尤其是他不给你时间解释的时候。
例1：整数数组找出2个数字之和等于target. 除了hash，还能排序后做如下动作：
left = 0;
right = length - 1;
while (left < right){
if (a[left] + a[right] == target){
get it;
}else if (a[left] + a[right] < target){
++left;

}
}
然后interviewer不停地challenge我说后面处理不等的几句会把解漏了；我给出
类似归纳法证明，他说我证明有问题，然后下一题。

，直接让我去公司和general manager in-perosonal interview了。有点困惑，一般公
司都要phone interview一下的，而且，就是On-site，一般也是和技术部门的人先谈，
不知道对方是什么意思。
对方公司是500+的公司，方向是生物制药方面的，工作地点也在local（离家开车就10
分钟），职位要求和我的专业研究背景十分match。
还有望请版上同仁们指点一二。 |

乱搞一气，也没抱神马希望。当时还因为天气原因不是电话断掉就是网络断掉，很难受。难道是因为那俩老印不会用c++的unordered_map只会用java自带的HashMap从而觉得我算是人才？
结果叫我去onsite,靠。真是让我去bay area考察中国超市的啊,看以后神马调料不用
从家里带。
anyway,想问问大家是不是onsite的难度会比phone interview大很多，这样我就要从了
N家了，不等G家了。去bay area也真是考察中国超市的，或者直接从SFO飞回国。
因为我有急事儿要回国，也没有那么那么想去G家。
不过那个钱会不会真的差很多啊。。。
前天去穿着短袖去滑雪，结果被晒成熊猫眼，真正熊猫眼，肿么办。。。

该怎么准备呢？有几个疑惑啊，分别列出来请教一下大家~
1.这个pre-interview reception一定要参加吗？是不是会对第二天的面试有正影响呀？
2.没有参加过这种活动，很担心过去了不会讲话，反倒给被人不好的印象。我应该怎么
准备呢？
3.他们说是要business casual，准备衬衫西裤，可以吗？想穿毛衣，怕冷，什么样的
毛衣可以啊？

强烈建议interview时在一台有Visual Studio的machine上写code。他们自己提供的软
件可以看到对方的desktop，用Visual Studio写。可由于网速问题， 在interviewer的
desktop上写code实在太慢，最后变成在自己的Mac book Pro 上写code，对方看
你的desktop.
写这个class要注意rational number的representation，不要存quotient （division
will cause numerical precision issue）, 要存｜nominator｜ and ｜denominator

司只有20职工。 发现公司的规模和interview的内容很有关联。
大公司倾向于基础知识的考察，要你做很多computer science的基本课程，例如
algorithm，data structure等等。对你的过去的具体实际经验反而不太多问。
小公司则非常注重实际经验，很少要你做题。 他们关注的是你曾经做过什么，问的问
题多半是具体的关于某种语言的功能实现，和某种package的用法。 他们会问你用过什
么UML，什么version control，什么IDE， 什么platform，什么语言，会不会用vi，会
不会写shell script等等。
所以大公司比较适合年轻的刚从学校出来不久的血气方刚的人。 当你的年龄逐渐增大
，学校学的内容逐渐淡忘，实际经验逐渐充实，小公司则比较合适。 当然，如果你到
了40岁，还对学校学的东西记忆犹新，并且有丰富的实际经验，也许在大公司可以谋到
一个较高的位置。

，到底应该选择哪一个比较有利呢？
phone interview的
pro
1.电脑里面有做过的面试题，如果碰上可以照搬。
2.回答问题时可以现搜一些东西。
3.不用背behavioral questions,照稿念就行
con: 交流会比较生硬，本人口语听力凑合
on-site interview的
pro
1.交流会比较顺畅。面对面交流还是更好，要给个hint,对方一般都很帮忙
2.展现个人魅力，本人男，面相，体型，性格凑合。应该能给人一个聪明又好相处的
好同事的印象。
con
1.板书很慢，不习惯。
2.因为要照顾交流，可能解题时不能非常专心。

interview. For my current job, when the onsite interview was over, the
manager made a verbal offer to me and the hr contacted me just a few days
later. Thinking back, that was nice, cuz a lot of the companies don't do
that, simply b/c they wanted to interview some other candidates and pick 1
they like. |

manager，其实就是销售工程师的职位。
然后HR就给我订了机票，但是没有说具体的interview process，我发邮件问HR也没回

但是已经计划好了过完圣诞节回国陪父母一个月。
在glassdoor上看了下这个公司的interview时间过程，从两三周到两三个月的都有。
电话 interview 的时候是否需要告诉 recruiter 我的时间安排？
这样如果有下一步的话，可以安排在我回国之前或回来之后。 |

interviewer觉得不需要继续了。也就是说，要么特别好，要么
特别烂。这个很容易分辨。
有人说我都做出来了为什么还被拘，这个原因多了。最常见的一点，
你的code太烂或者有bug自己没看出来。 还可能是他觉得你的反应
太快太假。或者英语太烂他听不明白等等。
没啥办法，move on吧。Good luck next time. |

另外面试的HM会不会就是你今后真正的HM呢？我看了一下好像我的HM的职位跟我申请的
职位不是特别一样。
另外，大概面试后几天会有消息呢？是email还是电话一般？如果对方问你要不要接受
offer，不想立刻回答应该怎么说呢？
最后，本人要今年年底毕业，但是那个职位属于一直都招人的，反复核实了一下，公司
也说不会影响决定。那么如果答应了offer，毕业时间要推迟，跟HR说会不会有事啊？

需要cancel这个epic的onsite，不知道直接跟他们说会不会有什么影响。。？联系我的
HR人挺好的，上个星期刚帮我订好机票和hotel，现在说不去，我挺内疚的。。。
不会因为cancel interview上黑名单之类的吧。。。

发帖数: 1 | 42 今天INTERVIEW一个SENIOR职位。遇到一算法问题去解决实际问题，思路方法都有。如
果用工作中的方法直接C#用LINQ。只是现在INTERVIEW大家用不同的东西，为了避免
CONFUSION，自己就只用JAVA，而且一般约定俗成现写CODE，不用库函数。结果写到一
半，想不起用JAVA MAP ENTRY去SORT BY VALUE. 毕竟没有用JAVA天天做项目，JAVA用
法只是来至刷的那一百道题。后来只给了2/3的CODE。
INTERVIEW结束，DIRECTOR说让RECRUITER跟我联系下一步，如果有什么问题可以问
RECRUITER。我问那你给我过了？他说过了给我一个ONSITE.
很快RECRUITER联络说考虑SOFTWARE ENGINEER II POSITION. 其实他们TWO的工资比我
原来SENIOR的职位都多。只是觉得还没去工作，这就不满意，去上班后会不会随时开人
？不过还是感谢DIRECTOR不是教条的人，没有因为没答上题就全盘否定。
不过，照这个样子，经验能力方法都没太大用，会多拿几个面试。ONSITE刷过了就是

I applied together with my wife 3 months ago in one envelop of N-400. We got
finger print notice together two months ago.
My wife got her interview notice 1 month ago. I didn't.
Is it normal that wife and husband got interview notice separately? |

发帖数: 1625 | 48 Good Luck! The phone interviews from Google, Apple and Facebook are very
tough. They will ask people coding within 3-5 mins and start counting time.
Even though interviewee works out within the time frame, they will challenge
if you use the best way.
I feel very uncomfortable to interview with Google and Apple kids, who just
graduate and are very rude. On site interview will be a little bit better.

reference letter. 我让我的推荐人发给他了，然后一个月没有消息。 但是我还告诉
他我的opt 将要过期，能不能尽快给我答复。 他说他有四个candidates， 能够很快给
我答复。
今天我收到他的email。 要我在网上填application, and prepare a research
statement and arrange three reference letters to be sent to me by June 7th,
if you have not done so yet. 他收到这些后，再给我第二次online interview.
请教各位这什么意思？
