新浪科技讯 7月21日消息，消息人士透露，Juniper收购华为3Com的谈判已经结束，全球
第二大网络设备厂商Juniper以15亿美元收购后者部分资产。
华为3Com北京公司公关人士以周末不便为由婉拒采访。随后新浪科技辗转联络到一
位华为3Com高管，电话中他语气轻松，指出公司的产品线很全，Juniper感兴趣的只是其
中一部分。事实上，今年3月即有双方可能联姻的消息传出，谈判的卖方主导正是3Com与
华为两家控股的公司，而华为3Com人士则对这次谈判参与不多，故无从确凿判断消息的真
实性。公司董事中3Com有5席，华为则占据4席。
新浪科技从消息人士处获悉，华为3Com的路由器、交换机等部分公司资产将被出售
给Juniper，平台软件已经打包成立一家新公司，而且部分员工已经重新签订了合同。

路由要求不高。之前一直用Juniper，对Fortigate不了解。但是得到的报价上Fortigate便宜一
半。我先来说说我关心的优劣势：
SSL VPN：SSG140没有SSL VPN功能，意味着还要再买个SA2500. 讨厌的是SA机器本身不贵，但
是license是按人头来的，10个license就抵上一个机器的钱。Fortigate整合了防火墙和SSL
VPN。而且SSL VPN不要license。
Throughput: SSG140 350Mbps vs Fortigate 5Gbps。 但是受WAN带宽的限制（4.5Mbps
bundled T1+ 6Mbps Broadband Wireless）, 350Mbps应该也足够了。
价格：FortigateFG200B是juniper SSG140+SA2500的一半。
兼容：公司其余4个点都用的是Juniper。而且不知道Fortigate对H323 traffic 处理情

Operating System），JUNOS，贯穿其所有产品，大大降低了用户网络的管理成本，不
像其竞争对手，有很多个操作系统，管理困难，…，云云。Juniper所谓的竞争对手，
也就是思科（Cisco），却好像每宣布一个新产品，就推出一个新的操作系统–边缘路
由器ASR 1000的操作系统是IOS XE，网络交换机Nexus 7000的操作系统是NX-OS（详见
相关文章），再加上原有的核心路由器CRS-1（见左图）的操作系统IOS XR，以及思科
传统的IOS操作系统。看起来，Juniper和思科的OS战略有所不同，那么，一个和多个OS

center behave as if it were one giant switch.
There are 3 componets to QFabric: Node, Interconnect and Director. To take

疼啊。。目前手上的资料也就只有juniper bgp configuration guide...着实压力不小
。经理又催着给配置文件（ibgp & ebgp，我们的网有点小复杂。。。）

公司购买了/22的超网，但是在配置时，在路由器上还是划分成/25的小网段。现在要配
置BGP， 公司要求要把/22和/25都宣告出来。请问这个/22该怎么宣告呢？ 有点没想明
白该怎么宣告/22网段。毕竟不在机器上啊。。。
2：
在juniper上配BGP，关于宣告网段，是不是只能用bgp routing policy 去做。比如
inject OSPF ， 把直连导入BGP？对于ibgp 和ebgp, 这个导入的命令得做两次，对吧
？（记得cisco，只要宣告一次，ibgp和ebgp都可以用。） |

used for home gateway. guess, juniper needs a real low-end product to compete
with Linksys or any other home networking appliance.
Anyway, 5gt is not meant for home use.

Juniper的高端router技术上有特色，并且竞争对手少，而且客户即便从分而治之的角度
考虑也不会让一家独大。中低端的产品,技术的重要性相对弱些。另外，华为最NB的就是
它的市场营销。
Juniper还是在做switch？在switch上和Cisco竞争，成功的机会基本是０。：）

Cisco care way more about Alcatel than Juniper as far as switching is
concerned，specifically, on metro ethernet.

main code base is written 13 years ago. It's way behind the modern computer
science technology nowadays. But lazy Juniper people are still sleeping on
the old technology, self-satisfied, while cisco is catching up. Look at how
CRS-3, IOS-XR has really done a good job, incorporating server cluster's
idea into router. That's the key why juniper can only do multi-chassis
system with 4 slaves under 1, but cisco can do as many |

234说得很好，我都有体会。比如cisco doc，100-页纸就能说清楚的事，非得要整到
1000+页，那些“大多数人也就SO SO”的书也同样风格。当年为了吃饭，不得不看，现
在是坚决不看（偶尔有时候当手册查查细节）。juniper的书太少，也没什么可比性。
不过对既想学习又要考试的人来说，jncia/s/p/e倒是4本好书，juniper网上免费
下载。 |

IPSec VPN is the method/level of plumbing. If you check installed programs
in Control Panel you should see it.
Client-less SSL-VPN can only handle a subset of web applications. It does
not require a client piece. Juniper's client-less solution is claimed to be
the best because it can process more sophisticated web pages than others. |

费城的消费很低，房子甚至比NJ便宜很多。

在法国和新加坡我都没发现过Juniper,
也许是new arrival？
