发帖数: 236 | 1 我滑squaw和kirkwood大概一半一半吧，前年滑squaw多一些，去年滑kirkwood多一点，
不觉得kirkwood不适合学习提高啊。去年滑了20多次，没买season pass后悔死了。至
于6-pack，其实未必比临时买票便宜，而且去年有人到season结束还没把sierra-at-
tahoe等烂票卖掉。就浪费时间而言，kirkwood比squaw近不少吧？
我知道很多BAD上的人都从kirkwood换squaw了，不过那些人在kirkwood滑了好几个
season了，产生审美疲劳也是正常的。我觉得Lake Tahoe周围的雪场，squaw第一，
kirkwood第二，heavenly啥的中看不中用，还死贵。性价比而言kirkwood略胜squaw一
筹，而且要近半个小时。
初学者如果去得不多，可以考虑diamond peak，价格便宜，而且足够初中级爱好者了。
459的本都回不来。现在赶快去买six pack，只用squaw，卖掉其余，like ningjia ;)
，对大多数人还是比season pass便宜。
今年都换地方了。跟浪费的时间相比，便宜PASS不值 |

Squaw and Kirkwood are in different category. I like Squaw but I can afford
(both time and money) to ski more at Kirkwood. 50 miles closer to Kirkwood
make a day trip bit easier. Short lift line is also a plus to Kirkwood. |

,kirkwood也就相应变得物美价廉.但当今年初squaw pass降到4/5百水平的时候,对我的
选择来说几乎没有悬念.
这不是审美疲劳的问题,而是Kirkwood没有提供足够平滑的难度梯度用以过渡提高.如果
把绿蓝黑细分为浅正深三档,Kirkwood基本上只有正绿,浅蓝,正蓝,深黑四种,Park只有
浅绿,深蓝,正黑,mogel只有浅黑,深黑,pipe最惨,只有一个,浅绿.
除非天赋极佳,大部分不同水平的人都被隔离在这些支离破碎的难度断层中,经年累月地
摸索而无法有效提高恐固.The Wall就是很好的例子,只要你的水平已经够高,它总有足
够难的地形让你下,但你没法指望在kirkwood练出这水平,因为没有过渡用的进阶地形.

09-10 season. The resort and rate are too good to say no. It is even cheaper
than what I paid last year.

try different places like Squaw, Sugarbowl or Alpine Meadow next season
until I saw this good deal. I'll stay there for one more season. Personally
I think Kirkwood has the best snow condition and is least crowded around
Tahoe.
The $299 price for Network Season Pass is good until April 25, $50 less than
the same pass (7Wood) purchased directly from Kirkwood. The only difference
is that Network Pass will not have 2 free |

发帖数: 118 | 7 话得先从前一天晚上说起。因为那个晚上跟着表哥和表姐的男朋友去山下的San Mateo
downtown一家著名的sushi点吃饭，结果没吃几口，就来了一个深水炸弹，之后又是辣姜
加vodka，半年来没受酒精考验的我立马缴械，虽然后来还去繁华的SF男人了一把，但是
完全没有记忆，就记得门口和一个黑人homeless brother来去扯了半天，还是被人拖走的
，就这样，第二天一早我还是成功地六点起床，驱车三个小时去了Kirkwood，虽然是副驾
驶。
Kirkwood在加州的东端，几乎和内华达接壤。一路从湾区开来，拦腰穿过加州，先是横穿
湾区的大桥，再是丘陵果园，粉色的桃花正是开放的季节，一个半小时后连片的牧场开始
出现在车窗两侧，草都是最鲜嫩的绿色，仿佛经历了一冬的等待，昨夜刚从地里钻出。虽
然还在头疼，但是满眼动人地绿色让我已经没有了睡意。车子不断爬高，开始看到雪，不
久路两边的雪就已经比车顶还厚，车在人工开凿出的雪槽中行驶。爬到高处，眺望远方，
连绵的远山白雪覆盖，偶尔露出青色的脊梁。相比山下一片春意盎然，这里还是隆冬的银 |

发帖数: 1703 | 8 第一次坐Bus,以前都是挑着好天气的周末去，今年Tahoe的雪这个样子，再挑挑拣拣
就生怕等到雪化了也没得滑了。Pickup的地点虽然和Google Map有出入，但还是很方便
就找到了，因为天没亮在Tasman Drive经过的车多半都是Take同一辆Bus的吧。车上的5
个多小时睡得并没有原先预想的好，虽然司机开的非常平稳，车上也没什么人说话，除
了前排的老太太一直开着灯算什么九宫之类的东西。
虽然因为肯定要上雪链才坚定了坐Bus的决心，但没想到可怜的白人司机折腾了足足半个
小时才装上了6个轮子，再加上进Kirkwood之前跟在铲雪车后面颇堵了阵子车，等从Ren
tal出来穿好SKI滑到Lift Chair1已经12点了。照LD的说法，人家Ski BUS说不定就用半
天票的价格才能这么便宜的。
以前从来没来过Kirkwood,一直听说是高手中的高手才来的地方，到现场一看果不其
然，全黑的Lift前都排着长队，绿色的1号缆车前几乎一个人也没有。刚刚在Snowkirk那
儿试试手就有些后悔冒着雪来Ski的决定，迎着风让本来已经很平的绿道显得更平了，而
扑面而来的雪点子打 |

Very nice sunny day. The snow in kirkwood is not too bad even it has no snow
in the past whole week. Had a lot of fun at "the wave". The first a couple
feet of the rim is close to vertical. The snow below is decent for edgeing

tahoe area resorts and almost in the middle of nowhere.
kirkwood is a middle size resort with 2000ft vertical drop(7800' to 9800')
and 2300 acres.
it has the best snow in tahoe area and it claims itself has the deepest snow
in USA. it has a base of 110-146" while the nearby heavenly has 46-64".
the terrain is not as steep as squaw overall but offers almost everything.
the best known run/chair is called "the wall".

unlimited 09-10 season pass for $333 only! Even cheaper than Kirkwood. Mt.
Rose is smaller compared to Kirkwood (1200 acres vs 2300 acres). It is
further away from bayarea (240 miles vs. 187 miles). The good thing about Mt
.Rose is that it is close to Reno (<30 miles). If you stay in Reno, Casinos
have free shuttle to the ski resort.

发帖数: 125 | 28 日前去kirkwood滑雪，误入石缝之间，大约六十度的坡面上几乎只有冰，最窄处宽度估
计只比雪板宽20公分。开始不知深浅，居然还想一手拍video一边往下溜，结果倒是拍
到了一段脚底打滑往下掉的惊险场面。后半段没拍，因为几乎完全是靠两手撑着两边的
石壁用双杠动作下来的。现在想想还是后怕，再次提醒滑雪还是安全第一。

发帖数: 125 | 29 这个周末都是在Kirkwood度过的，也算第一次体会到了在fresh powder上飞的感觉.
周六雨雪交加，惨不堪言，不说也罢。
第二天气温继续下降，雪还在不停下，不过已明显变干。早上还没到8:30就看见6号前
已经排了老长的队，都是准备抢先登顶的人。可惜我自己虽然住在跟前，紧赶慢赶等上
道也已经快10点了:( 等上了5号6号早已不是新雪了，不过依然松暖干，是难得的好雪
。可惜最想玩的terrain park压根就没开。在坡上发现10号排的人少，就奔了过去。排
了好一会才发现lift在空转，根本就没开！！晕倒~~~
看看排队的人在风雪中谈笑风生，居然毫无怨言，便留了个心眼，打听了一下，才发现
这群人跟早上8:30聚在6号前的人一样，也是等着上去滑powder的，而我居然在误打误
撞在混了进来，而且还排得很靠前哟（不到10分钟后面已经又排了老长）。于是安下心
来继续等，谁知这一等就是50分钟。不过倒也难得看美国的小年青们表现出这么高的耐
心和觉悟：）山上仍不时传来轰隆声，应该是在avalanche control吧。
大约12点，人群中忽然爆发出欢呼，原来lift终于开了。这时候什么觉 |

另外补一句，买了两年Kirkwood Pass，个人感觉不适合学习提高。好几个认识的人今年都换地方了。跟浪费的时间相比，便宜PASS不值。 |

snowfall this week. Snow shower will continue into next week. Amazingly,
there will be a gap of 2 days this weekend! I will feel guilty if I don't
go skiing...
The coming Sunday is also Northstar's SAC day, 50% discount ticket
seems still available ($40). I'm thinking of going skiing at Kirkwood on
Saturday and Northstar on Sunday. Anyone has similar plan?

发帖数: 674 | 39 上个月上了他们的group lesson。上午SNOWBOARDING, 下午SKI。 完全不一样的体验，
上午惨不忍睹，下午乐不思归。有可能是因为难度的关系，也有可能是教练的关系。上
午的教练是智利来的，英语都说不清楚，要点都没cover到（回来看了CCTV的教学录像
，感觉完全被rip off了）。 下午的教练就要厉害多了，回来看录像上的要点都cover
到了，而且教学的秩序完全make sense。
结论就是要跟着好教练，完全事半功倍。

Motel 6 in South Lake Tahoe is good for overnight stay (one night). I like
the flexibility of its cancellation policy (cancel before 4pm on the same
day free of charge). But it is too small to stay multiple nights.
We stay at "The Lodge Kingsbury At Crossing" in Stateline, NV (next to South
Lake Tahoe) few times this season. It is a time-share condos. We booked
through AAA web site. The rate is $68 for a one bed room apartment. |

No. Heavenly only. Went with friends with Kirkwood passes. I have not seen
any organized trip to heavenly yet. Was going to heavnely during the
thanksgiving break, friend has a house off pioneer trail for us to stay, but
my daughter rejected it :(, ended up taking the day trip instead. |
