and control the weed. If you took that away, you
lost the benefit of mowing as well. |

你首先要搞清楚你的 lawn 是什么草。然后认清这个是
不是 lawn 的草。就算有很大的图认草仍然很难的，
我也只知道常见的几种而已。
目前我猜有 > 70% 可能是蔓延的杂草。这种情况 bestlawn
上最常见的做法是全部 roundup 然后撒种从新种。这个就
叫 renovate. 不是每个人都有这么多决心来这么搞，自己
衡量吧。这种情况一般没有什么特效药的。 |

It's more reliable than gas mowers, much less pollution. Almost maintenance
free.
Since your lawn is so small, you can eve use a mechanical mower. |

Yes, they only need to kick of a few inches of sod.
This is bad, better till and mediate the top soil. But that's labor
expensive, so, most companies simply add another layer of top soil. (You can
the old lawn could be several inches above the curbside, if this procedure
is repeated over years.)
If most of your top soil is rock hard, it's already dead. You have to apply
a lot of synthetic fertilizer and weedkiller to keep your grass barely alive

自己喷洒。 Read the instructions before you do so.
秃草坪可以买草籽来洒或者草皮自己补。 草籽 will take months to grow but
cheaper in cost. 草皮我记得是 $1.50 per sqft each from our local sod farm
but that was 15 years ago. Nowadays, price might be higher.
Lawn mower, Honda engine 最好不过比较贵。 去 Home Depot / Lowes 去问看看你需
要什么样的 lawn mower.
你的屋顶情况看起来还不错。 很像有二层roofing了。 Moss 只有潮湿的时候才有。

if you have woods on most of the lot, you don't need to do anything, unless
some trees are too close to the structure. get a good leave blower, and a
chainsaw, you will need those.
if you have lawns mostly, you certainly need a ride-on mower (or hire
someone). you have a lot more works to do to maintain a lawn of that size. |

么注意。割草时也急急慌慌的没注意看。 等到7月初时突然发现很多weed， 各种各样
的。 有很多crabgrass， 有宽叶的， 还有长小花的。 尤其时长宽叶的和crabgrass，
那长的速度真叫快呀。 手工拔了一些crabgrass， 但是太多了， lawn 又不小。 所
以就不想再拔了。 7月份发现很多时想用scott late spring （黄色的） 的weed and
feed control， 但觉得有点晚， 并且天太热， 怕撒了对好草不好。 现在真是太多了
， 至少有cover 30-35%吧。 请问这weed 是季节性的吗？ 等到秋天他们会自动枯萎吗
？用spot treatment 的除草剂吗？看来现在只能等到9月份 early spring的scott

so take my advice with a grain of salt (probably as you do with most advice).
I don't know about oak leaves. There are people saying their grass do fine
after mulching, but there is also this article to ponder:

lawn service公司来兜售生意，说我门前草长得不好，有fungi,要处理，不然明年春天
就要全部重搞，thousands dollars。
当然我才不入他的圈套， 但是现在这个草确实是越长越稀，不知道怎么搞。
请教一下，是不是去Homedepot 找除fungi的药喷一下？ 需要确定是哪一种fungi吗？
那人说杀了fungi之后要施肥（具体没听懂啥东西）， 然后瘌痢头会自动长好。 是不
是就撒一些lawn fertilizer？ 有没有针对瘌痢头的专门方子？

刚来美国的时候，看到家家户户割得整整齐齐的绿油油的草坪，非常感叹这才是高品质
发达国家的生活。等到自己也有大草坪，才明白它是压在美国人民头上的一座大山。我
家的草坪大概六千多平方尺，每年为它花费了大量的金钱和时间。
浇水，一周三次，每次二十五分钟，碰到特别热的时候要隔天一次，不然草就发蔫，长
虫子。我算过，每月要花六十到八十的水费来浇水。
施肥和杀虫，我雇人做。他们一年要做六次Scott Turf Builder Pro，每次一百五左右
。春夏还有有两次Lawn Insect Control每次一百，秋天一次Fall Lawn Core Aeration
每次一百三，算下来每年一千五左右花在施肥和长虫。我也曾经试过自己做，结果发现
花费差不太多，但是买肥料、杀虫剂、除草剂、租工具的成本费也要一千左右，而且效
