去年我找工作的时候发现板上针对data scientist，machine learning engineer面试
题总结很少，所以尽量申请了很多公司面试相关职位，想看看行业里这个方向都在问什
么。有幸去过不少地方面试，现在把那些题目整理整理（全部来自Amazon, Microsoft,
Yelp, Pinterest,
Square, Google, Glassdoor, Groupon的电面和onsite)，希望能帮助在找相关工作的

习machine learning的实用技术，还是看《Elements of Statistical Learning》，里
面的技术浅显易懂，而且更实用更全面一些。Bishop的书全是Bayesian的理论，“误导
”过不少中国学生，都觉得现在最前沿的machine learning全都是做Bayesian的。其实
现实的machine learning应用，从来没有一种应用是Bayesian方法一定比传统统计学习
更好。所以让学生花太多精力去研究Bayesian的推导，不如用这些时间去学一些更多方
面的技术和应用，或许更好。 |

理由：machine learning 机会更多，不只academia，还有很多的industry机会，这样
给自己留更宽的后路。
从academia角度出发，跟application（biomedical）更紧密一点，比较容易拿funding
，但是做ML的也能做的跟application很紧密，取决于你怎么做。 |

genomic data用到machine learning挺多的，但是如果你的结论对biologist来说不
make sense，那就不make sense，他们不买账，你就没辙。 话虽如此，
bioinformatics ＋machine learning ＋genomics，再弄个几篇好文章还是比较容易找
教职的。话虽如此要我还是觉得biostats的faculty日子过得滋润多得多了。 |

标 题: fresh cs master找工作的疑惑以及machine learning的应用问题，请指点一下！

可是做过的project基本就是machine learning在具体问题中的的一些application基本
都是matlab中做的，所有的啥svm阿NN阿不是matlab中自带的functions就是利用比如说
svm-light package之类的，再根据具体问题按照一定procedure找出好参数拉，找好
model阿串起来。
一般cs master准备面试如果像备考那样看数据结构和算法，加上一门c++或java，大概
就是这个样子吧。我觉得即使这些我准备的很好还是有几大硬伤：
1.project没有正经用java或c++做过
2.作的东西也都是把现成的算法试来试去来解决问题，没有什么自己的创新。感觉我做
的东西挺弱的：code没啥技术含量，好像也从未涉及过什么高深的算法或那些很流行的 |

发帖数: 1602 | 37 最近看了下machine learning，感觉很多idea挺有意思，虽然也不是很新。感觉搞
machine learning研究的，主要都用概率统计，比如Beyesian information 和EE那些
搞信息论，detection and estimation的用的东西很像。
classifer一定程度上，也可以理解成多元检测。
还有EE里搞compressed sensing，在ML里也看到搞dimension reduction用到。
neural network里的back propagation还有点像EE里coding的，都用message passing。
当然了，convex optimization在EE的信号处理和ML里都用到不少。
搞ML是不是很多东西可以借鉴EE里现成的啊？ML里最前沿的研究都是做什么啊？听说
data scientist也不怎么像马工那样写code。
EE（通信理论方向的）转ML，当data scientist是不是也比较自然啊？ |

教育： 本科和phd都是非EE/CS的工科，现在是phd最后一年，本科有统计的minor, 博
士期间也修了不少统计的课，统计基础还算扎实。本科和博士的学校牌子都还可以。
研究： 博士期间做bioinformatics的，主要做disease classification and
clustering, 对各种machine learning的模型都有涉猎，但都学的不是很深。
编程：主要是matlab，用C++刷了leetcode一遍，SQL, R，Python都会一点。
最理想的职位是entry level的data scientist，可以把积累的一些machine learning
和统计的知识用在工作中，去tech公司,药厂都行。但感觉这行门槛高，很难进。纯SDE
