最近在帮着个journal review一篇manuscript，biomedical science领域的。看着非常
火大。
文章各种大小错误不断。估计在投稿之前连proofread都没有。我要一边读一边纠错。
然后就是文章的data不能有力的证明他的几个conclusion。很多在我看来，属于over-
statement了。figure里面也是藏污纳垢的，不是非常solid的result。
总之我的观点就是拒掉，我也可以具体列出一二三非常具体的问题和修改意见。但是就

from them since then. The journal's website says they will notify author
within 1-2 weeks if they don't like the manuscript. But will they also
notify author if they decided send the ms for outside review? I could
contact them a couple days later. |

意见比较负面，这种情况下是address all comments 然后按照上面的提示transfer 到
下一个档次的journal， 还是 submit it as a new manuscript好？我们大概能够很容
易address 一半多点的major comments, 这样似乎省了review的时间，但是后者的好处
是editor不会知道这些负面的comments， 却不知新的reviewers 会提什么意见。看了
生物版上说hold住别人的东西然后自己赶紧做再把人挤掉的 很多例子，担心拖得太久
，被reviewer中的人抢先发了，纠结中。有多少可能和下一个档次的journal editor
negotiate?多谢意见!! |

我提交PL的时候有项工作manuscript都还没有写完，不过之前开某大会的小分会时候这
部分内容被chair升级成了invited talk。我在PL里就集中在这一点上吹了，同时找了
大会另一小分会的chair在推荐信里重点强调升级这件事非常的不寻常。
另外reviewer评语给力也是可以用的，我在PL里引用了reviewers关于我一篇文章的非
常给力的评语，然后加了句 The praise from anonymous experts reflects the high
quality and importance of my work, since in anonymous peer review the
reviewing experts can be and should be very critical to the manuscript in
order to ensure the quality of published papers.
总之PL就是要多方面全角度的说明自己有多nb，只要能够有理有据的说明自己nb的材料
就可以用 |

投过或者审过这个杂志，能不能分享一下Manuscript Template。或者其他哪个杂志的

但是，一个最大的问题就是文字部分太长，系统确实比较复杂，俺写的时候就觉得很长
，老板修改后英语润色了很多，但是也要求俺再增加了figure、描述、解释还有文献。
也跟老板暗示过文章太长，现在几遍修改下来，不仅比预期要投的杂志要求characters
上限多出近1/3，而且比几乎任何杂志的要求字数都长了很多。
很感激老板，所以不好意思一而再再而三的麻烦他，准备自己先删减，但是几天下来，
只删了一点点，离要求相距深远，苦恼啊苦恼！
请教版上各位，如果manuscript太长，有啥好方法能够遵循一下进行删减的吗？

楼主 如果不是用发mail attachment 的方式
而是用USB 备份后 拿着U盘到boss/PI 办
公室面交的话 PI 她/他还是那句话吗?
或者干脆打印出来 hard copy draft 和U盘 一同面递老板
老板即使还是那句话的话
楼主 可以请老板建议一位或2位 他/她PI 信得过的老美博后
帮楼主polish 一轮吧
发mail attachment 尤其是 dot doc WORD 文档给老板 是让PI 把你作为 submitted manuscript
outside reviewer 的修改意见 要求 对待了吧 啊?
还要用不同的字体颜色 标注出来 吧 啊?
在那种场合 outside reviewer 才有资格/权限让corresponding author
那么做吧 ?
Ps: 如果楼主发的只是pdf format attachment 的话
难道要老板 打印出hard copy 来后再帮你polish+改写吗?

Actually, this review manuscript was requested by the editor in chief when
he learned about my background, but never knew him before.
