然无限费心的培养我，感觉却是push me forward 更多一点，尤其中学以后不记得得到
多少鼓励，觉得大多数时候都是自己给自己打气。我跟他算是知己把。高中的时候两人
成绩差不多，都立志要考清华，总有点较劲的意思。又住在前后楼，经常半夜里看着他
家窗台的灯光督促自己多学一会儿。大学的时候不在一个地方，那时候我想出国，假期
里都准备考试或者上新东方，他去公司intern或者上新东方，他比我还self push，两
人就没几天是在一起的。可能当年没少写信相互鼓励把，记不清了，好像我寄给他的东
西很多都是英语资料考研书什么的。后来分手不联系了，遇见LG是个比较知足随遇而安
的，自从和lg在一起感觉自己也越来越混日子了，得过且过。中间也跟他恢复过一段联
系，因为结婚生娃又断掉了。这两年倒是又有联系了，我在这边加班，他在国内加班，
经常都是很累心情很压抑的时候找他聊聊天诉诉苦，交流一下同被老板折磨被迫加班的
无奈，感觉心情会好不少。其实十几年来都没见过几次，但感觉他还是能在我最沮丧的

's compensation thing for me. However, I do not think that school can take
off all responsibility to the accident even though they had bought a

我也认为ME的同学应该多讨论讨论。其实ME的方向这么多，还真不好一概而论。毕竟ME也
是一个大系，也不知道怎么上来讨论的90％是CS和EE的，奇怪。
我说说我们学校的情况，抛砖引玉。我们学校总体排名要比工程排名强一些，可能是富家
子弟太多，不重视工程的缘故。ME排名10－20名。系不大，但各个教授的名气都还可以。
一个方向是计算力学，FEM模拟之类的。由于这个方向比较强，学生也比较好找工作。去
年有两个去了50名左右的学校当faculty。今年一个去加州的公司，80K左右。另外一个方
向，比较偏理论，搞点公式推倒什么的，不好找工作。但最近毕业的两个都找到博士后，
50K左右。其他传统行业的，如检测，制造，摩擦学很难找工作，多半留下来当博士后，
薪水不清楚。但这几个方向毕业较快，一般4年。还有就是MEMS，nanotechnology的了，
由于比较新，还没有什么人毕业，情况也不明朗。今年唯一一个毕业的当了教授，偏材料
方向的。
大家有什么心得，信息，不妨共享。 |

...我认识的读了ME的中国人和印度的，master graduate 最后没有找不到工作的。 就是工资不太搞，
45K-63K。
accounting,我向来 不支持，一来， 和ME差别挺大，其次，起薪太低，还比不上ME..

之前就发些厥词有些不妥。写完感想1以后已经过去两年了，产业和自身各方面的发展
和我预料的几乎一模一样。所以现在再把2补充上也有些底气和更多的指导意义了。
首先，我想说的是所有学ME,尤其是力学的同修们，你们可能自己都没有意识到自己有
多幸运，就和我当初也意识不到一样。直到现在，自己三年内工资翻了三倍，周围的同
事里面不少都挣得比律师医生还多，才知道其实这个行业是真正的金饭碗，所以，所有
的ME同修们，恭喜你们，总有一天你们当你们看清路子的时候，胜利就是你们的。

对于我们所学的专业，最大的限制不是行业本身，而是我们的身份。ME并不cold,这个行
业虽然不是high profit,但是是各个国家的立国之本。此外，老美在计算上不如我们强，
编程，fea分析等等技术上我们的优势很明显。因此我们还是有很大空间的。问题是，
ME
所服务的多家行业出于各种原因而不愿意sponsor H1B.这里可以列举一些，帮大家省掉一

在下有个问题：
你说"ME特别做分析的(FEA/CFD等等)只要找到第一个工业工作,以
后就前途无量了"，问题是，ME的专业方向也多了，作FEA/CFD 都是做某一个领域的，
象逍遥君做飞机结构分析，他算是挑对方向了，楼主说说有什么方向的分析的是
promising的？
还有，是不是ME工业界不欢迎PHD？怎么逍遥君说的帮phD递简历人家都不待见，呵呵，
其实工业界的那些经验和工具尤其是分析，对PHD来说还不是很快就上手的。面试考什
么bearing stress，PHD答不出来不代表人家的真实水平，还有什么软件的工具，拿来
考人家，对于PHD来说，是个人一天或者一个星期都会熟悉起来的。我感觉ME做分析的
门槛也不高，大多opening要BS或者MS,所以也相对排斥PHD。 |

这里我列一些事实，关于你所谓的管理方式和贡献
1。精华区，Nov 12 2005 整理过一次且唯一一次，之后再无更新
2。保留文章，以365天为限往上查询，一共mark了2篇，分别在07年11月21号和12月8号
，08年一篇也没有。Renxiaoyao老哥那么好的，关于ME INDUSTRY的几点感想，系列一片
也没mark。
3。自己的贡献，同样以365天往上以sui同作者查询，一共发文2篇，一篇在07年12月20
号，内容为'spt'；另外一篇发于昨天我转贴我的版主申请之后，内容为'胡说八道什么
呢？'。
也许以前你是有管理和贡献，可是最近一年，对不起，我在ME版看不到。
至于我合适不合适，呵呵，你怎么知道？ |

，了解一下他的历程。
找工作是个长期抗战的过程，不要被jobhunting版的一些CS背景同学的炫耀帖冲昏了头
。ME的人才是起步难，但是越老越吃香。同是工作5~10年， 很可能CS背景的无论工作
稳定性还是报酬以及工作强度，都很可能低于ME出身的工程师。
就方向而言和我自身能看到的，学生背景是计算固体力学，同时有限元理论和应用都比
较熟的比较好找工作。 |

现在东部一所大学读化学PHD第一年，
然而本科毕业后就对化学失去了大多数兴趣，对太抽象的东西又理解不是很深刻。
无奈现在又雪上加霜，跟着一个做理论的老板，天天统计力学过去，统计力学过来。感
到自己实在很差劲，看到老板都好怕怕。生怕老板说，你以后不用再来了，去别的组吧！
对工程类的可以看到摸到的东西，自己更有感觉一点。平时就喜欢捣鼓飞机模型之类的
东西。所以对机械类的专业特别向往。
最大的梦想就是可以设计并制作出自己的机器。感觉这才是自己喜欢做的事情。
如果我没有搞错的话，ME就是设计和制作机器的吧
所以想转ME了。
我是中科大化学毕业，如果ME不用量子力学和高等统计力学的话，感觉自己数理基础还
可以应付学校相关课程。
问问各位过来人，非工程的转ME情况怎么样啊？有先例可供参考不。

cs那边有很多分享面试做了什么题目的,我在ME没有找到。
是ME各个方向差别太大了，没有广泛借鉴意义?还是ME面试不做题?我考古就看到一个问
公式的，大部分都是说自己做个presentation，讲讲自己目前的项目就好了，别的也就
是随便问问有没有类似经验之类的，没见到刻意考察基础知识的。不知道我理解的对不
对。
我没有技术面试的经验,本科是ME, 现在biomechanics，80%都是做实验.本科好多知识都很模糊了，不知
道是不是该看书本复习基础知识，也不知道复习到什么程度。

The nurse told me that they use the 避孕药 to me for suppression instead of
Lupron because they do not want to oversuppress me since they do not expect
me to get over 8 eggs owing to my high FSH (sigh...), and I was quite
confused by this period.
