我们学校的两个MS专业，都是1年半读完。
MS in Medical Statistics 是在 Department of Biostatistics
MS in Clinical Research Coordinator 是在School of Nurse
Clinical Research Coordinator只有周五有课，感觉比较简单，合适part-time。
Medical Statistics 要求比较高，要先修本科的课。
当然最重要的是，那个更好找到工作。
已经错误读完不错学校生物PhD，4年Postdoc，走不下去，人生最黑暗的时候，这一步
实在不能在错了！

这里有句话“Do not count any day you were present in the United States as an
"exempt individual"“，而下面列出的F(opt)都算exempt individual,就是说10月1
号生效时我的“有效日”应该是0(假设之前都是F+opt)
举个例子，08年10月1日生效，那么当年的“有效日”就是92天，不满足呆满183天的要
求，所以当年算NR，10月到12月的SSN&medical还是不交
然后到09年，09年整年算的话肯定满足了算R,但问题是paycheck是半个月给一次的，到
2009年6月1日才刚满足183天的要求（前五个月152天+08年9月-12月的天数/3)，那么09
年前5个月的SSN&medical能不交 |

2。有些bill是2010年看病时候的花费，但是收到bill和最后的payment是在2011，这个应该算在2010年还是明年报税的时候再算？
3。因为只能算出一个大概的数目，是否可以？请问一般都有哪些算medical expense？现在有的：手术费，dental的，药费，co－pay。用taxact填的时候看到transportation也算，请问这个怎么算呀？难道要找到以前的加油费和停车费的receipt？
不好意思，问题有点多，去年的medical expense较多，所以问题也比较麻烦，谢谢大

老公是06年来的，2011年上半年在学校期间已经扣了ssn和medical tax，后来找到工作
，身份都是f1，工作后申请的opt，也扣了ssn和medical tax。我想问这两个税应该扣
么？如果不应该是不是要和hr联系？
还有报税的问题，我知道应该按照resident报，是不是要填1040表？
我们这种情况还有5000的treaty么？如果有在哪个表报？我还打算学会计，这个税我就
搞不清楚，唉。多谢大家。 |

.5%，更超过老婆个人工资的7.5%，没有小孩，没有房子。只有我有fsa的2500，付掉我
的medial，dental，eye，最后帮老婆付了她的medical 800刀，
问题一，为求利益最大化，夫妻联合保税时，可以我用standard deduction，我老婆用
itemized deduction么？我感觉好像不行
问题二，如果问题一不行的话，我就考虑我们分开报税，我就用standard deduction；
我老婆用itemized deduction，应该可以多退税？这样原则上可行么？
问题三，在问题二中我老婆用itemized deduction时候，medical可以deduct多少，是
9000，还是8200？因为9000中有800是我的fsa付的

nonresident转resident引起的（我毕业之前从没缴过social security tax和medical
tax）？
full time student不管NR还是R都不要交fica.
resident状态后，只要在学校外的收入一定要交fica.
3. 尝试了Turbotax，发现最后还要补交联邦税，是否是因为要补交第一份W2里的
social security tax和medical tax？像我这种情形是否一般都要补税？
补交税和fica没一点关系。
不知道，每个人预扣税不一样，收入种类和deduction种类不一样。 |

当时是用个人信用卡付的帐单，然后从hsa直接reimburse到我的checking account。
收到hsa 的１０９９-ＳＡ了，box ５被check，ＨＳＡ按unqualified medical
expense算的，要２０％的tax。
现在有什么办法补救吗？ １０４０ schedule Ａ 能把这个unqualified medical
expense 免去吗？ |

medical device公司，ISO13485 compliance 是在欧洲和加拿大必须的。在美国，生产
Class I exempt以上产品，需要遵守QSR820,其实跟13485几乎一样。关于13485和9001
的training很多，CFPA有专门的course.ASQ,RAPS都有Webinar。RAPS还有一个online university course on Medical Device GMP但真正要学，还得实践中体会。
如果想找Medical Device QA，QC的工作，可以先从ASQ考一个CQA的证。复习资料里有
详细的ISO13485的说明。 |

10年以上，只要不是太笨，平时稍微用心，也能成为资深业内人士了， 很多好的机会
都会opens up. 换行业基本上要重新再来。
15% increase 感觉不是很值得，除非你不喜欢你的medical行业。找你老板match一下？
如果你已经有5年以上medical行业经验，更不值得, 再熬几年行业内跳个槽可能更好。
oil and gas行业经验很重要（每行都一样）， 学懂这个行业入行至少3-5年， 10年经
验是个坎儿。 而且oil and gas比较起起伏伏，不如medical稳定。 |

目前有F1的保险cover 80%，然后去申请了medical care也批准了，需要学校出示
primary保险的
证明，然后今天去学校填表他们说我们是F1 visa不能申请任何government allowance,
说什么她
会给我们提交这些证明，但是她说这样做将来可能会影响到将来申请visa(绿卡)的问题。
我们同学去年就拿了这个medical care保险生的娃也没听说这个问题啊。申请这个保险
的时候人家也
把我们的I20，I94啥的都要过去了，没说必须得是resident才行。
有没有人知道这个到底是她在忽悠我们还是真的会影响到将来申请绿卡阿？多谢多谢 |

140-eb1a我按照biologist交的，年初的时候交了485/PD3月/NSC，现在H1B博后。
最近可能有一个medical writer的工作机会可以去。本来觉得medical writer和生物还
满相关的，工作岗位也是要求的PHD/MD/PHARMD。但是查了一下job code，发现medical
writer/technical writer竟然在大众传媒里，定义上和生物半毛钱关系也没有，让人
很伤心啊，也不知道是不是应该要这个offer。
保守来讲，就是再挺个一年半载的，等卡到手再行动；激进点的，就是先要了offer,之
后的事情兵来将挡水来土掩。

天雪较多，比较冷。刚来的话住的近一点比较容易适应。

说实话，我已经尽力去找了，但是目前为止还没人想接受。
有一个律师电话里说实话，说是我要告的那个医生的医院是在加州湾区最有名医院之一
，一般它们有医疗方面的案子都是请这个医院的医生来评估，所以他不想得罪这个医院
，不过还是希望我能够找到愿意接受我妈的案子的医生。
我觉得很绝望，这就是美国的所谓的司法公正？连找个律师都找不到？而且还有两个月
就过了一年medical malpractice诉讼时效了。
正义在那里？我妈饱受极端痛苦的折磨，冤死早逝的灵魂何时才能得到安息？她是那样
的热爱生活，那样的坚强，即便到了生命的最后时期，我的心里很堵, 她走的太早了！！

看了几家， 最终在 Greenbriar 和 Amalfi at Hermann Park 之间徘徊。

Greenbriar
pros:
1. 距离学校只有1 mile
可是休斯敦的夏天走 1 mile 还是很痛苦的
骑自行车或者take shuttle 可能是一个solution
如果这样的话， Amalfi 距离学校的 3 miles 可能也不是一个问题
2. 比 Amalfi 房租便宜200$ per month
cons：
设施比 Amalfi 的要差一些，环境也不如 Amalfi 的好
Amalfi
pros:
1. 环境和设施都很好
cons:
1. 距离学校有3 mile
2. 不知道骑车去 medical center 的可行性，可以穿过 Hermann park 去 medical
center 吗？ 如果骑车的话， 通常要多久啊？
3. 平常大家take apartment 的 shuttle 方便吗？ |

medical center 带家具的两室两卫condo出租，坐公交或metro train可去medical
center, baylor, Rice Univ, 开车不到10分钟
Private owned condo, 房东目前不在houston, 可与我站内联系
如果有兴趣的话，可以这周六，周日(4/2， 4/3)来看房子。

本人因工作原因，临时决定于近期回国，急转租Medical Center区域Apartment一室一
厅房间一套（带家具）。具体信息如下：
A房型：1 Bedroom + 1 Bathroom – 739 Sqt.
B.入住时间： 10月或11月初.
C.地址：7510 Brompton Road,Houston,TX 77025
D.小区：小区周边配套齐全：walking distance to randalls；紧邻kroger,target
and fiesta。小区Brays Bayou Trail，跑步骑车的朋友很多。小区环境和谐，大部分
住户为medical center工作人员或rice读书的学生。小区内提供shuttle service每天
到达 Medical Center和Rice University。小区出门即是通往Tex MED TC的4路车，5分
钟步行处是通往Tex MED TC的2路车。乘坐公交车或小区shuttle方便快捷，对刚到
Houston还没有买车的朋友来说非常便利。
