又不是什么敏感专业，某校的CIVIL ENGINEERING，PHD即将第三年。
我去年回上海续签过，没有被CHECK，VISA今年5月过期的。我预约了8月初在mexico续
签F1，本来信心满满，最近老被周围的同学问：被check了怎么办。越想越担心。
不知道板上有没有好心的哥哥姐姐知道，去mexico被check的可能性有多大？

come back to US before their valid/authorized stay in US expires? Nowadays
B2 visa for Chinese citizens are all 10 years, so definitely still valid.
But when entering US from Mexico, do they need anything else? Any experience

For re-entering the US, they can re-enter using Automatic Revalidation if
they were in Mexico for less than 30 days and their previous I-94 is still
unexpired (in this case, whether the visa is expired or not doesn't matter).
Otherwise, they can just enter anew using the valid unexpired visa.

I had this plan to mexico Cancun this Dec, 22 to 28 for an all inclusive
package. My plan is 2 days for water sports, 2 days for maya pyramids, and
rest of days are for the local sight seeing. :))
If you are intersted, let me know. I am thinking to organize a small group,
like 4 or 6 people.
Be aware of visa issue. I think we need mexico visa for this trip. :) You
are responsible for your own visa.

第三日：Petrified forest NP and painted desert
从Holbrook出发，走180 south去Petrified forest NP的南门，大约二十几mile的样子
。这天的天气不好，太阳有气无力地斜挂在天边。顾名思义，petrified forest就是个
树化石成堆的地方。
不同的化学物质沉淀造成了化石不同的颜色，我也听不懂到底都是那些化学物质。据
giftshop的店主说，呈紫色的是其中最难得的，不过我还是给自己买了一块纯黑色的作
为纪念。开始怀疑自己是不是有点心理阴暗。
记得这个地方叫做bluemesa，大概是地表被侵蚀以后暴露出下面岩层的不同颜色。
剥夺它的颜色再看一看。
这一路上route 66和我们如影随形。

第四日：Santa Fe
Santa Fe是个极具艺术气质的城市，没想到我们会在这里盘桓一整天的时间，也放弃了
它北边的Bandelier National Monument。早上先来到它核心位置的Cathedral看看它里
面的样子。
早上还有high school的乐队来表演。打头的像是个印第安小姑娘。
Santa Fe街景
街边多是卖工艺品的gallery
这是个卖日用品店的内部
Santa Fe有很多Museum，但是全都不允许在里面拍照，只能拍拍外观。我想最值得一
去的还是Georgia O'Keeffe Museum。在New Mexico，画家像是找到了自己的灵魂，在
这里度过了她的后半生。

Mexico will only accept non-Mexican citizen aplicatants who are renewing
the same type of visa. this means that if this is a new H1-B visa, you can
not apply it in Mexico. Go back to China to apply for it. |

Money，Money and Money
1.ATM取钱
去之前写信问了问BOA，他们给我的答复如下：
For your reference, while traveling outside the United States, you can
avoid the $5 access fee and the transaction fees by using an ATM at the
following banks in these locations:
- Santander @ Mexico.
回来查了一查，利率大概10.83，还算满意，5个peso是当地银行的手续费
2.Citi MC credit card
刷卡的利率是10.85多点，手续费0.8%，非常不错
（相比之下，我的Chase给我的是10.5，AE 10.58 怀疑手续费不一样 |

去坐邮轮，征求了去过的朋友，由于是头一次出海的邮轮，同江的邮轮不一样，基
本锁定3至4晚的邮轮，但是现在却在去BAHMAS还是去MEXICO间纠结。都是Royal
Caribbean
的船走Western Caribbean的 Cozumel, Mexico ,另外那个去BAHMAS 的是去邮轮的
