示需要安装的时候，那个package repository 一般是miktex 2.5\tex\miktex\latex。
最近重装过系统，也重装了miktex，再去这个地方的时候，却说 \MiKTeX2.5\tex\
latex does not seem to be a local package repository. 那这个local package
repository 到底在哪？
如果我打开miktex 里面的browse packages, 可以安装一些packages, 但今天想安装
beamer，它却说error from server:404. 怎么回事？
要去conference，有点急，非常感谢。 |

可是，最近自动update了一些package后，就无法编译正确(那怕最简单的example
latex),也无法正确地产生输出。。。
今天，索性把这两个东西全卸载了，然后重新了download最新的版本(MikTex 2.4.1533以
及TeXnicCenter_1Beta6_21),先装的MikTex,再装的TeXnicCenter.
但最后还是无法work.
实在搞不清楚问题的所在。哪位高手对这个比较熟悉，能否指点一下？谢谢。 |

发帖数: 108 | 4 when u installed miktex, u specified two dirs, one is
texmf and the other is localtexmf. u can put the .cls under
the localtexmf dir so that u won't lose it when u reinstall
or upgrade miktex. u need to refresh the file name database
after u put ur files there. run miktex options and click
the button 'refresh now'.

1。从www.miktex.org上download了miktex2.7，选择了basic安装，安装目录在D:
miktex/new folder
2。用notepad 输入hello world $3+3=6$ \bye save as test.tex
3.打开command pro. 到达test 的目录， 然后输入tex test.tex
输入 dvips test.dvi
4.打开dvi文件，出现hello world 3＋3＝6 everything is fine now
但是下面出现了问题
5. 用notepad写
\documentclass{article}
\begin{document}
hello world
\end{document}
6.重复上面的步骤进行编译的时候，总是出现这段话：
undefined control sequence.
1.1 \documentclass
?
是因为我没有装好miktex吗？还是我没有装一些宏包？装宏包是必须的么？

光下载就用了好几个小时,安装了半天,还没装好.
这个东西有这么复杂吗?

我导师用的都是word,不知道如何让他修改我的miktex文章? |

如果换用miktex,是不是要找别人去要一个他的miktex模板.
周围同专业的人我没见过用miktex的,全是word.

体。
有些格式要求把所有的font都内嵌在生成的pdf中。。
可是老是不行，不知道原因在哪里？
是MikTex的设置问题还是TeXnicCenter的设置问题？如何设置？

现在装 MiKTex (俺是 2.7) 是按最小安装装好，然后 tex file 里面需要什么
package 会在编译的时候自动检测到并安装。都不用懂什么 local/texmf/ 的就行了。
以前装 MikTex 好像是 2.2 还是 2.3 的时候可费了老劲儿了。 |

MikTeX和TeXLive是TeX/LaTeX的两种发行包(distribution)，里面可以
包含很多宏包(package)
beamer是一个宏包。

commands of latex, pdflatex, bibtex) to compile your TEX file. Emacs has a
very steep curve of learning. If you just want to get your TEX compiled, don
't bother Emacs until you really want to learn it.

在WinXP下安装了miktex2.5, 用emacs编辑latex文档，
.emacs 里面设置(setq tex-dvi-view-command "yap").
但是在 "C-c C-v"后，出现以下信息：
No such file or directory: c:\Documents.dvi.
但是其实我是要打开 c:/Documents and Settings/user/My Documents/test.dvi
问题出在路径名中含有空格，因为我试过打开test.dvi 在 C:\GNU
这会的问题是， yap 还是不能正确打开dvi，因为要在关闭emacs后(C-x C-c),
yap window 才出现!但是这时可以看到dvi文档了。如果有空格的路径
则只出现出错信息，不过也是要在emacs |

none of them works and the error message always say "cannot find style file".
I will hate to put it in the texmf hierachy since that is not the default

However, after I compile my .tex file and tried to review .dvi, a message
poped out, saying
"the document can not be rendered properly because the current render
method does not support PostScript specials. Temporarily switch to the Dvips
render method?''
If I choose no, then all my figures (.eps) can not be shown. If I choose yes
, then it crashed.
How can I do for this problem? Any information is appreciated. |

令,然后有几个选项:
Type to proceed, S to scroll future error message,
R to run without stopping, Q to run quietly,
I to insert something, E to edit your file,
1 or ... or 9 to igore the next 1 to 9 token of input,
H for help, X to quit.
然后应该选那个,才可以使MiKTex的默认选回纯latex? |

Settings -> Packages -> Documentation -> Metapost-examples
比如metapost源文件是mygraph.mp，内容如下
beginfig(1); %图形起始
... %绘图命令
endfig; %图形结尾
beginfig(2);
...
endfig;
...
end; %文件结尾
可以这么编译 mpost mygraph.mp
输出的是mygraph.1, mygraph.2 ...
这些文件是mps格式，一种特殊的eps，可以用GSview看，也可以用
epstopdf命令把mps转成pdf看。 |

graphicx}。
常用的三个绘图工具中，只有tikz/pgf可以直接写到.tex里，metapost
和pstricks都需要另外生成图形。
mpost是个命令行命令，在miktex的bin目录下，估计另一个可执行文件
mp是它的马甲。TeXnicCenter也许可以给这个命令定制一个按钮。
是吗? |

如果你定义新的东西，还是需要装的
当然如果你安装的时候选了最大安装，可能已经有beamer之类了 |
