现在有一个coplanar waveguide (CPW),想把他的characteristic impedance做的比较
高(slightly
higher than 50 ohms),尽量minimize conductor loss,所以得把signal和ground之
间的间距做的比
较大,但是因为我们用来测量cpw的picoprobe的pitch比较小,所以在cpw的两端必须要
把这个间距降
低。但是降低间距的话,characteristic impedance就会降低,这样和probe之间就有
了一个
impedance mismatch。
大牛们觉得怎么在减小cpw间距的同时minimize loss??简单的用一个linear taper可
以吗?

problem here is how to get low ESL (parasitic inductance). component pins
have parasitic inductance, you need to minimize those parasitic inductance.

I am not an ADC person. For (2), generally, if one can
characterize statistical properties of quantization error,
which in your case may be dependent on the properties of u(z),
then it is possible to minimize the residual variance.
Alternatively, you can build a recursive filter to accomplish
your goal, although most RLS filters minimize error squared,
not absolute error - but you really want error squared, yes?

|理想的y-滤波器实际产生的y|的
min max或平方积分最小,这个问题我看了下文献,好像是没有答案的.
统计特性的结果有不少.但那个我觉得帮助不大.一来统计特性很难准确.一些
文章上的结论,对不准的统计特性是不是仍然有效,这个目前为止.二来,
data sheet上,我总不能说这个东西99%不会numerical blow up吧.

最近在看LMM, 看了不少资料,反而把自己绕进去了,现在头脑僵硬看不懂Calibration这
块了. 急需牛人指点一二.
我的问题如下:
calibration我的理解就是用市场上的实际数据(比如swaption 价格),来估计
volatility,然后通过这个volatility来算模型推导出来的swaptioin 价格. 其中这个
volatility要能minimize error funciton.
然而: 1.为什么书上同时给出这个公式
sigmamodel_n_{^2}=(1/T_n) *Integral_0_{T_n}{sigma_n_{^2} } (也就是implied
volatility 在给定时间Tn内的平均值)
来计算模型中的sigma? 那这样的话,sigma不就是确定了吗? 怎么来minimize error
function呢?
2. implied volatility 和instantaneous volatility 有什么具体区别?
3. 市场数据是怎么来的? 难道不是根据这个模型算出来的吗?还是完全根据供求关系来

I heard the contrary to "Historical volatility is better than implied". A
prominent prof mentioned in his class said he tried GARCH/ARCH/ARMA
everything, but turn out to use the implied volatility which is more
accurate than the historical one.
Assume Implied volatioity is 100 percent accurate, than by minimize the
implied volatility for a portfolio means the future volatility is minized.
In case error is big(predication power is weak) then minimize doesnot mean
anything useful.

There's a book and each sentence consists of several words. How to find the
minimal set of words which can used by the reader to understand half of
total number of the sentences. Each sentence is readable if the reader know
all the words.
I can only think of brute force solution -- do word counting on every
possible collection of half number of sentences and choose the minimal. But
that's exponential C(n,n/2).
Any better solution?

要是把题目改为: here are five cards numbered 1-5. You construct a deck.

consistent 了,调换 y 和 x 后,新旧hedge ratio 不是互为倒数。因为不对称,
long /short 和short / long 本身就可以反被别人 arb 了。
所以通常会force zero intercept, 或者用 tls, minimize R^2上各点到 regression
line 的距离,而不是minimize residuals, 这样保证对称性。
