经过一年多的调查，现年17岁的北卡凯瑞镇绿希望高中(Green Hope High)印裔资优生优帕拉帕提(Arnav Uppalapati)，上周因涉弑母罪被捕，消息震惊亚裔社区。该生目前被收押于威克郡拘留所，全案正由检方调查。
这是本月威克郡第二件弑母案，18岁的马乔多(Oscar Funez Machado)因斩首其母，6日刚被警方以一级谋杀罪逮捕。
优帕拉帕提于2015年12月17日拨打911报警，声称他放学回家后，发现母亲铁拉普罗露(Nalini Tellaprolu)卧倒车库地上，已经去世。根据法医解剖调查报告，其母是被塑胶袋盖住头部，窒息而死，身上淤青，脸部和手臂等部位有抓痕，颈部韧带断裂。案发现场没有被强行侵入的痕迹，没有东西遗失，保全警报也没有响起。
