，垂直落差604米，顶部有大约625平方米的平台。从远处看去，非常壮观, 而走到近
处，站在布道石平台上，俯瞰峡谷中的吕瑟峡湾(Lysefjord)，几乎是挪威的名片。美
国有线电视新闻网（CNN）旗下的旅游及生活网站CNNGO，评出全球50处最壮丽的自然景
观，布道石名列首位.
计划挪威行程的时候，The pulpit rock就是俺特别特别想去的一个景点，为此还特意
在the pulpit rock的旁边订了旅馆。看完了bergen, 我们转天早上一路南下经过
stavanger，一路坐了3次car ferry, 终于开车来到了the pulpit rock的脚下。从布道
石的parking lot走到山顶的trail长约3.8公里 with a difference in altitude of
1082ft, 但坑爹是这个trail有3个非常明显的上坡，走起来多少有些吃力。看下图：

这次会议时间比较好，有两天半的自由活动时间，所以正好看了看奥斯陆的一些比较有
名的博物馆。
更不错的是，开会时间恰逢国际滑雪联合会2011年北欧世界滑雪锦标赛（FIS Nordic
World Ski Championships 2011）在奥斯陆著名的霍门科伦滑雪场（Holmenkollen）举
行。
举办方特意在会议结束后，安排一整天的时间招待我们去看比赛，还是蛮有意思的。
看了两个比赛项目。
越野滑雪（Cross-country Skiing）男子团体4×10公里接力赛（Men's Team 4 x 10
Km Relay）。
北欧两项(Nordic Combined)男子团体大台/4×5公里接力赛（Men's Team Large Hill/
4 x 5 km Relay）。
这个北欧两项其实就是跳台滑雪（Ski Jumping）加越野滑雪。
当然，会开的也是很成功的。

签证还是去波士顿（Boston）的挪威（Norway）领事馆申请，再寄到纽约领事馆批复。
医疗保险在 insuremytrip.com 买的，6天8.82美元。
周一下午从班上去机场。
飞到纽瓦克（Newark），吃了碗意大利面。
然后飞挪威首都奥斯陆（Oslo），正点到，路上看了《拆弹部队》（The Hurt Locker
）。
BOS - EWR，04:52pm - 06:22pm，CO0557。（下雨改坐前面一班 0537）
EWR - OSL，08:00pm - 09:35am，CO0038。
出了海关。
400挪威克朗买了机场往返市区的火车票，4年之间涨价好多啊。
到了国家剧院站下车，住 Grand Hotel，543。
在旁边的便利店取了1200挪威克朗，现在1美元只能换5.60左右挪威克朗了，物价更贵
了。
然后去参观博物馆。
先来到国立现代艺术博物馆（National Museum of Comtemporary Art）参观，门票免
费。
博物馆在装修，展品只有一层，没啥太多东西。

纽约领馆网页却显示，请不要联系领馆，请使用网上预约面签，请不要打电话
无奈只好发邮件，第二天得到回复，说纽约领馆面签不需要预约，随到随签
工作时间是周一二四五9am－12pm
这是最坑爹的地方，网上根本没写，以后要签的请和他们联系确定工作时间没变
2.准备材料
expedia上随便订个酒店，再随便查个机票，机票不需要买，只要有个行程就行
找保险公司要travel insurence，我的是medex
发信过去2个小时就拿到了，标准的申根travel insurence模版
F1需要有效美国签证＋I20，网上没写I20，幸亏带了
三个月的银行statement，学校出的在读证明
把所有网申最后的receipt,cover letter,application form都打印出来
application form上该签字的地方签好字
照片2张（网上没说要2张，我带了3张去，他们收了2张，取签证时还了1张）
照片要求norway尺寸，到epassportphoto.com上直接生成就可以了

ICM2014一小时大会报告共邀请了21位数学家，其中美国10位，法国3位，英国2位，
日本、韩国、瑞士、比利时、加拿大、意大利等国家各1位。
美国10位被邀请做一小时报告的数学家中，有5位是来自俄罗斯和东欧（匈牙利、捷
克）的数学家，目前都在美国一流大学（麻省理工学院、加州大学伯克利分校、普林斯
顿大学等）任职，还有3位分别来自伊朗、法国和英国。有2位在麻省理工学院、加州大

iron-distance has to be tougher than a 70.3 race, but we wanted our winner

He was sentenced to 11 years in prison late in 2009 for inciting subversion

这 是我回忆10月12日去世博会挪威馆献花，以及之后喝茶经历的小文。前面部分不那
么好玩，因为在推特上直播了，我也没花太多精力写得很精彩，后面喝茶部分 更加有

个年头的全球“失败国家”2009年排名（The Failed States Index 2009）。中国共产
党领导的中国一举跨入全球“失败国家”行列（前60位），从2008年排名第68位，前进
到2009年的第57位，是世界上唯一成为失败国家的联合国常务理事国。
“ 失败国家排名”（The Failed States Index）是由国际政治的著名刊物《Foreign

要看民主与法制的总体趋势，
把所有国家的democracy index和corruption index
做个相关性统计不就行了。
从两个列表中取国家地区的共同部分，共163个。
算出来的相关系数是0.7，高度相关。
