那时XP都还没发布呢。
Windows NT4 64bit是为Alpha 64bit处理器写的。在当时那是神一般存在的CPU。
只是那家公司后来破产，被康柏收购了。开发Alpha 64的人员基本都被intel和AMD挖走
了。
Win2000时，Windows就没有64位OS了。
在Win2003时，才又开发了64位的，不过有2种，一种for AMD64，一种 for itanium. |

举个例子，画窗口api有大量共享数据结构，但32位保护模式，进程之间空间独立。给
每个进程复制一份的话内存不够，开一个server搞IPC的话CPU主频又不够，所以微软在
NT4里面特意把整套画窗口代码移入了内核态，利用进程在内核态共享地址空间的办法
省了几兆内存。
微软最牛的地方是PC机有多大饭量就加上多少教课书技术，直到2001年所有东西都放上
去为止。 |

now on his harddisk. He used partition magic to convert a
portion of his harddisk into fat16 and then format it. Then
restart with nt startdisk, then his hardisk fails at
starting stage. Anybody can help?

我想到的特经典的有：
1、Windows NT 4.0 Workstation大中华版
这个东西现在网上已经看不到了，是全英文界面，自带中文输入，同时支持简繁体软件
，算是Windows 2000之前最好用的操作系统了。NT4的简中、繁中很多，但是都不像这
个软件一样可以同时运行简体和繁体程序。
2、PC Tools for Windows 2.0
这是Windows 3.1的一个shell，集成特多的前卫概念，个人觉得比后来的95-vista界面
可能还先进些。当时它和Norton Desktop 3.0竞争，前者应该是windows 3.1时代的终
极产品。
3、Borland C++ 3.1
这就不多说了，反正18张5寸盘，必装软件，真正用的反而不多。
4、NC 5.0
很好用的文件管理程序，那个年代的Norton比现在有趣多了，现在只是一个evil的反病
毒防火墙厂商而已。
5、OS/2 2.11
虽然OS/2 3.0更流行，不过2.11其实已经足够成熟了，界面很酷，清新干净，特专业的
