him too. He graduated from MIT but gave up his career for dancing. |

今年osb的日程安排对学生来说太差了，我后来才知道原来standard和rhythm的决赛是
在周五晚上。可学生只有周六晚上的票，而且大部分学生都不可能周五傍晚就赶到
Culombus，想买票看也不可能！ |

dropped his number plate on the floor and walked out. We will have a new
smooth champions, David/Valentina.
Top teacher didn't mean the best teacher. If a teacher have many competition
entries with their students, he/she may win the top teacher prize. Ben and
Shalene are top teachers for several years at OSB.

unfortunately, don't know many big names for Latin in Chicago.
I know the following couple since Irina and I was chatting in the pro party
after a competition this year. They are Semifinalist at OSB this year.

发帖数: 8282 | 15 Just come back from Holiday Dance Classic, the 2nd largest comp in 2006,
with over 11500 entries. OSB was the first one with 15000+ entries.
Max and Julia beat Andrei/Elena again in Latin. Victor/Ann won Standard.
Smooth/Rythm is kind of boring. Top dancers like Toni/Ben Ermis/David Weiss
are all missing from the comp.
Highlight of the event - Pro Show, organized by Wendy Johnson
This year's Pro Show ( a mini-show similar to "Burn the Floor") is better
than the last years. Specially, it includes |

Dan Rutherford couple's dance looks neat - that was salsa (or mambo), right?
But her spins were not as sharp as those of the salsa champions from the
YouTube clip i posted the other day.
Austin and Liza's tango was good, but I feel their latin is better than
their standard. Yes, moonraker, Lisa seems to have grown faster physically
than Austin.
4) a question about the PBS TV show
These were from OSB straight - what did PBS do? Right, I know they video

little bit - i don't remember every movement exactly.

don't think it is too much, instead, I think the costume makes a great
extention to their body movement... as to the log band by max&yulia, as much
as I like them, I almost can't remember what it looked like, but I remember
this one vividly.
However, I do feel this time their performance was not as passionate as last
time they did at OSB -- which was understandable anyway...

pro standard??? I really doubt they can do well, it is a whole different
game with much stiffer competition ... one of the clues: how many top std
pro couples in the US don't have at least one Russian/East European-sound
name in the partnership?

there is nothing I can do about being not cute, but dancing shouldn't be
about being cute ... although if you are preforming on stage and charging
money for it then you are required to be cute..
last year I saw this girl at OSB's newcomer event, who was handicapped and
could barely walk, and she was really into what she was doing on the floor,
even though it was basically the boy doing all the work. I felt pretty moved
at that moment. |

's Wendy Johnson show is different from the one from last year and it is
better than last year.
Igor Litvinov & Julia Ivleva won the professional standard show dance in
last year's OSB (American Ballroom Challenge) using the show dance from the
last year's Wendy Johnson show.
