住宿有subsidy，当然自己还是要付些钱，那么这个lodging 是不是就不能用 per diem
rate 来报了？以前小秘说过实际住宿费用小于per diem rate时仍然可以用per diem
报，但是对于这种集中解决住宿并且住宿有补助的情况，又觉得用per diem 不太合理

2 courses per semester in the engineering field will keep a faculty fairly
busy, that is for sure. Not much time left to do research and write
proposals.
Actually many I know just teach one course per semester, or 3 per year (2/1)
. Buying out one is possible if having decent fundings, but funding is hard
to get these days.
My office-mate was a professor in a fairly famous school but he quit right
after he got the tenure and went back to industry. The primary reason is
