顶。顺便问一下photonics这一行找工作的方法是什么样的呢?
大侠看我的理解对不对:
(1),Photonics这一行都要求5+years working experience,而且学位高比较好,所
以适合读PhD,把PhD这5年算到工作经验里去,fresh master甭想了,是吗?
(2),Photonics 这一行有了PhD学位之后,才算是有资格找相关工作了(排除
Photonics master硬转行当码工的情况)。
(3),公司基本上都在CA和TEXAS,别的学校的毕业生要勤买飞机票。
(4),面试怎么面啊?读CS的PhD喜欢抱怨“论文对于找工作,是浮云,关键是skill,
看看面试题,算法都背下来,答题时候得100分,就找到工作了”,但是Photonics是
不是这样呢???肯定不是吧,需要的知识很杂,没法出一些统一的题型来考,是不是
就看论文,谈话,面试者主观断定你有没有货??
期待Photonics方面的过来人,指点迷津。。。

I used both the EVO 3D and Photon. I tested EVO 3D and Photon. So I believe
that I know these two phones well. I am using photon now
1) EVO 3D , better UI (way better than moto), faster 4G. Signal is really
comparable with photon.
2) photon, GSM option, 16G built-in memory. Better mechanical build quality.
By the way, I also used the Samsumg Nexus S. The 4G signal is terrible.

I was using evo 4g, upgraded to photon two weeks ago at best buy due to the
low cost. I think that photon is better than evo 4g functionality-wise,
everything else is comparable. Not sure why earlier post said its screen is
untolerable!
Not sure how photon compares with gs2 and evo 3d.

问题:如果两个光子是frequency entangled photon pair,那么测量其中之一的频率
时,另外一个的频率也确定了。那么,问个问题,光子能量是和频率一一对应的,以前
人家做的粒子自旋、光子偏振之类EPR实验,两个粒子都是能量一样的;如今能量不一
样,那么说“坍缩”的时候,能量能超光速传递?有违反侠义相对论吗?物理版没解答

这个手机3G tether容易,4G tether比较麻烦,经常mobile IP registra-
tion error。我试了好久,发现一种简单的方法可以稳定地4G tether。
1. root,不多说了,看xda-developer.com吧。
2. 去 code.google.com/p/android-wifi-tether/ 安装
wifi_tether_v3_1-pre99.apk
3. 进入settings -> battary & data manager -> data delivery ->
关掉 "background data" and "data enabled"。这部很简单,但很关键。
4. 打开 4G
5. 进入Wifi Tether,使用设置
Samsung Galaxy S (没有Photon,用这个一样的)
Netd(master) (选了就是infrastructure, 否则ad-hoc)

前两天有人发过类似的, 我在英国读的silicon photonics的PhD, 个人感觉光做一个
waveguide的project以后找工作还是很辛苦的。说实话, 在英国我目前还没有找到可
以接口的找industry工作的方向, 唯一能做的是process engineering。 美国估计能
好点, 应该会有start up company出现, 还守着硅谷, 应该可以在未来几年雇一批
人。 最好是有点CMOS background, silicon photonics就是CMOS的延续, 基础很重
要啊!

不是。Silicon Photonics的难点有三
1,要求有绿卡。没有绿卡,哪怕你本事再大,也很难找到工作。因为silicon
photonics属于比较敏感的专业,受export control的影响。
2,要求的技能学校里已经停止培养了。譬如EDA tool, DC/RF wafer testing,
tapeout of GDSII files, 没这些技能找工作也很难。
3,startup非常不稳定。这个月有钱,下一个月可能就没钱。所以工作机会也是时有时
无。
所以,最好还是去做电路或者能源方向,譬如solar ^ LED之类的,会比较稳定。

I take it that flux is the number of photons per unit time. (some people use
dkifferent definitions). if the photns are single wavelength, then power
divided by (h time frequency) is the flux. if photons are multiwavelengths,
then you need to know spectrum, it is more complicated, you probably need
measure power for each narrow wavelength window
