话，我很难狠下心说“no”，结果就捐了5块钱了事。曾有一次，在小区里碰到了邻居
家女儿在卖CANDY，我也抹不开面子买了一盒。本来是想让儿子锻炼的大方一点，可后
来发现，实际是让儿子去卖popcorn，更准确的说是让这小子去卖萌了。
有没有锻炼到什么能力倒没关系，儿子倒是挺喜欢的。所以今年这个周末又跑去
popcorn sale了，回来很自豪的跟我说，我自己一下午就卖了130多块钱的。我问了一
下帮工的老公，LD说，算下来，小家伙们一天下来卖了1000多刀，很不错的成绩。

前几天把popcorn ceiling给test了一下，报告付上，也让大家看看这石棉报告长什么
样。
我家就是popcorn屋顶，几年前买房子的时候，根本不知道popcorn ceiling里可能有石
棉这么回事。也就最近两三年才知道，上网研究的结果也是五花八门，有的说很有害，
有的说没事。有的说老房子都有，有的说并不是所有老房子都有。
以前看我家屋顶，发现明显是喷过漆的，所以倒也没太当回事，即使有石棉也都seal住
了不是。可这几年，屋里屋外进行了好几个大大小小的项目，又新买了一些家具。这工
具家具搬进搬出的，还是真把屋顶的几处给蹭掉了，不仔细看，倒是看不出来。最近新
添了个baby，健康安全意识也上了个台阶，越看那些破损的popcorn ceiling越范疑心
。不管将来是重新刷漆还是彻底清楚，这去除疑心的第一步就是先看看里面到底有没有
石棉。

如果是popcorn，可以拿一小块下来送到指定的地方帮你鉴定有毒没有。如果没有，自
己弄也行，home depot有专门的工具，几下手脚就搞定。
如果不是popcorn就麻烦了，不能刮下来，只能填一层mud然后再打磨平。我们
1000sqftz一般报价2.5k，我找到一个是1.7k的。不过工头有偷工减料的嫌疑，后来收
尾工作也没做，幸亏尾数也没收。 |

找了两handy man来看，说可以割了再补，但是会比较messy，大概两百多。
后来等他们回家报价再考虑，结果之后居然都不理我了，可能觉得活太小。
被鄙视了之后就自己弄，图在下面，步骤如下，希望对别的人有点帮助。对大牛来说可
能是不值一提的DIY,见笑了
1.裂缝周围喷水，把周边的popcorn扫下来。
2.attic上定位好木条，从裂缝旁边订钉子把错开的板块顶平，这个是参考了原帖里别
人给的建议
3.上drywall tape,糊墙，这个活干的很糙，糊得很不平，主要因为仰头操作。
4.至少等个一天
5.如图，用masking film和painter tape把四周保护好，这个一点都不能马虎，后面喷
得那叫一个messy
6.用popcorn spray喷，我喷的时候没掌握好短促迅速的要领，后来只好多弄几次
最后效果中等，但是因为楼梯暗，稍远点基本看不出来，所以和修补之前比起来，我觉
得非常满意了 |

买房子(1966年的房)的时候无知, 没听说过popcorn ceiling, agent不专业也没提,
住了快三年, 中间生了个宝宝, 现在孩子一岁半了。
前阵子装修房子, 因缘际会下才得知原来我们的popcorn ceiling里头是含有石棉的,
Google了一下不得了, 吓死了~
结果又发现, 一个月前我们的电工在装新的smoke detector时,
居然直接就在天花板钻了孔挖了洞, 还装了两个...
这下子真的焦虑得不得了, 主要是担心孩子健康,
有听过可以先做air quality test看看有没有健康疑虑, 这真的有用吗?
还有大夥推不推荐将popcorn ceiling移除呢?
也有听过没怎样就不要特别移除, 免得情况更糟, 是这样子吗?

我去年卖的房子，一层楼房子，没有你的大，没有high ceiling, 请人估价都在$3000
以上。
但因为我送去做lab test 显示有5%石棉，我怕对我自己身体不好，后来请了licenced
professional popcorn remover, 光popcorn removal就$3000多了(permit fee就$600
多）。后面请中国师傅补ceiling, 喷花（这个活蛮大的），油漆（primer+paint)，
$2500. 所以总共$6000多.强调一下：只是ceiling. |

我们的popcorn ceiling因为没石棉，就找了家最便宜的来做
这东西真是一份价钱一分货
便宜的这家保护措施做得不好，要是含石棉的话，我一定不会把省钱放第一位了
另外一个简单的办法就是在popcorn外面再加一层dry wall,现在比较省钱，
但是以后需要开墙调电线什么的，popcorn永远是个麻烦
很多contractor会因为这个加价
不过据我agent说这笔钱花得会很值
除去之后，房子的value会长不少 |

的房子的ceiling里还含有石棉。我们在犹豫是不是应该请人检测一下。
假设真的含石棉的话，有没有必要铲掉？好像铲掉石棉工程浩大，而且不知这个过程产
生的石棉纤维能不能清除干净。如果不清的话，日后是否有什么隐患？会不会老化剥落

disposal. As you said, They won't do the test and they will remove the
popcorn, but they also know government put big fine if they found dumping
this thing. It is true and it happened to a contract i personally know. So
either I try dispose this myself somehow and may get into trouble, or I get
professionals to do it.
Btw, I did the test myself, it is very easy and cost only $20.

眼一抹黑啊！
还有如果我现在找专业公司清理的话，清理完后，最快需要开窗通风多久？因为家里有
1岁多的小朋友，很担心很担心。我们的租约到月底结束。哎，早点儿发现就好了。

I just called the agency, and was told a permit is required and it will take
about 2 weeks. For the popcorn area between 500-1000 sq ft, the permit fee
is $570, and for the size of 1000-2000 sq ft, the fee will be $829. In my
case it should be $829.This morning I got the quote from the certified
popcorn removal professional, who was busy on a site, through the phone. The
$600 permit fee he said was just an estimate. |

compound抹平再打磨下。随后刷primer和flat ceiling paint。
感觉用joint compound磨平再打磨这一步最麻烦，最没把握。这一步就是把坑坑洼洼的
地方尽量填补下么？除去popcorn ceiling后会有很多不平的地方么？
