但是我知道好像去换发护照的时候，需要拿号排队，而且据说是前一天拿。。。。
如果等我第二天早上去，都不知道要排队到多少号了。。
所以想请问有人要去换签证吗？有人要提前去拿号码的嘛？不知道能不能帮忙取张前面
的号。。因为想下午赶回来上课.

This has nothing to do with where you live. I don't think Bay Area is
significantly different from Portland with this respect. If I were you, I'd
stay with family, everything else is BS, family is the only thing to trust.

1)white-dominated or not? demographically true but i see portland as a very
open-minded and libral city..it is more of company culture as to whether the
ceiling effect is serious...i have seen one chinese VP here and i havnt
been here long yet
2) can be a concern
3) depends on who is easier to find a job and whose career is more

如果将来要搬回加州,更愿意回SD.
但SD的工作机会也比弯区少很多.
PORTLAND没啥不好,
唯一的一点就是工作机会实在太少,
作HIGH TECH的想在本地挪个窝很困难.
其他的包括天气都不是问题,
象去年冬天,雨下得并不多,只是那几天下雪难过.
说种族歧视严重那就是瞎扯了.
