Level I: at least one well designed randomized study.
Level II: trial without randomization, retrospective studies etc
Level III: case report, clinical experience, expert opinion etc

说了，一个IMGmatch到MD-anderson的hem/onc,他以前做了几年的hem/onc research,第
一个月带我的resident很可惜没能match到emory的肾内去，她还在那里做了半个月的
remote rotation,她不想留下，所以没有rank我们学校，因为她的男朋友在亚特兰大，
她不想再两地分居了。她对我真的是很好，第一个月在我最困难的时候一直鼓励和帮助
我。今天在走廊里碰到她，她还特意说不用担心，作不了fellow,就做PCP。另外一个GI
没match上，他没做research,据说我们学校愿意收女士，另一个rheumatology没match
上，很吃惊，不过他也没有research背景。大部分cmg都有research背景，match的时候
会有些优势。 |

发帖数: 83 | 28 以前得到了版上前辈的帮助，不胜感激。我也来更新一篇， 攒点人品。
推荐holiday inn-downtown, 离面试地点10分钟，旅馆包接送，非常方便。但旅馆本身
很旧，空调很糟糕，好在今年buffalo特别暖和。
面试的医院感觉外观较旧，比起NYC好些的社区医院都差远了。tour了一圈也没记住什
么，领队的chief resident 是从NYC来的，一个劲地说这儿房租巨便宜。
最搞笑的是当天面试的人一共11个，清一色gg／dd，我是唯一例外。也不知道是怎么挑
的，全是帅哥，相当养眼。两个中东的，一个老印，两个亚裔的，剩下的是美国人。gg
/dd 都严格遵守lady first, 结果就我和chief resident (girl)在前面，后面离老远
一群gentlemen. 我还和chief resident开了下玩笑，问这个program是不是更喜欢boy
？版上的帅哥可以努力一下：）
从发的资料来看，fellowship的去处都很好。UB本身有除了rheumatology以外的所有
fellowship,PD特意强调会favor本校的residents.Cardio比较st |

现在住院医三年级。其实从一年级开始就很喜欢rheum，但是迟迟下不了决心做
fellowship，觉得在我家附近找到一个位置比登天还难，实在不想再和家人分开3年了
，总想着在家附近随便找份门诊的工作就好了。
但是兴趣使然，三年级我又轮转了一次rheum（在家附近的一个大学医院），真的
喜欢，觉得如果不申请会不甘心，于是决定只在家门口申请，成最好，不成也不会后悔。
当时已经是11月，上网一看才发现match day是12月1日。我连CV都没有整好，更别
提推荐信了。家门口的大学医院不多，一个一个问过去是不是招人，一个已经有人了，
还有一个要等match结果。知道我交材料参加match来不及了，答应说如果他们不match,
会看看我的材料。
后面就顺理成章了。我乘着那一个月赶紧搜集材料，写PS，要推荐信。
他们居然真的没有match!!! 要了我的材料，很快就安排了面试，面试表现正常发
挥。但是面试后告诉我，还有其他人会去面试，他们会需要一段时间作决定。饱受煎熬

一天，6个医生。早上10点左右开始。一个2年级的fellow先带着逛一圈，介绍以后工作
的一些重要地点。然后向我介绍program里每个人的特点，总的是想给我吃颗定心丸，
我当时特别紧张。tour之后，我真的放松了不少。
面试开始。第一位是program director,面试1小时。问题从我的背景着手，就我的PS一
一展开，问我为什么想做peds rheum, 为什么要到这个program。
感觉上，当我告诉她我的family也在这个地区，她看着挺高兴的。
然后又聊到research。我的research背景比较临床，做过一些case report, chart
review, 在国内有过一个与peds rheum有关的随访课题，所以有很多可以聊。
然后又聊到家庭。她告诉我program是 family friendly的。
之后的面试都是半小时。中间穿插午餐，只有fellow来，一位即将留校担任主治的
fellow讲了不少她自己的经历，午餐很放松。最后两位面试者都是以实验室科研为主的
，有一位已经有了以她命名的实验室。我对自己缺乏实验室背景直言不讳，但是表示如

发帖数: 52 | 37 我并不清楚我的program是不是要求看我的成绩。但是我的同事确实碰到这个情况了。
他后来去了另外一个program。
我想，就像是residency interview一样，有些地方还是会明知故犯问些不恰当的问题
。关键还是看你自己有多喜欢这个地方，如果非常中意，应该不会为这小小的一个细节
就说"不"。所以进了residency还是要好好学习，争取在in service exam中表现好些，
至少是呈现上升的趋势。

2011年第一届网络(暨第三届)老刀会活动通知
2012年的match很快要开始了。我们计划在正式进入match季节以前，通过电话会议
的形式举办网络老刀会，对同学们进行指导和热身。时间暂定在6月下旬，届时邀请住
院医, Fellow和attending分析今年match形势，match来临准备事项，如何选择申请科
室，大龄CMG如何扬长避短，面试技巧等等焦点问题进行分析。
网络老刀会现在开始报名，本次活动仅限于考板俱乐部的会员参加，非会员不具备
参加资格。报名注意事项如下：
报名须提供下列信息：
1. 真实姓名和所在地区。
2. 电子邮箱和时区。注意一定要提供时区，否则不能进入电话会议。

Highly competitive: Cardiology, Heme/Onc
Less Competitive:Pulmonary, Critical Care, Rheumatology (Becoming more
competitive), General Medicine (Research based)
Not Competitive: ID, Endo, Nephrology, Geriatrics
I have seen good people not get GI and Cardiology spots. H/O is very
competitive, but there are many spots out there.

内科是第一大科，中国人的科研背景，平均年龄，脱离临床较长时间让很多人倾向选择病理，扬长避短嘛，所以版上这两块人最多，信息交流相对丰富，久而久之，就成了良性循环； 反之亦然。
