都是年底的wash sale搞出的麻烦
举个例子：
12/25 buy xxx 1000 share
12/26 sell xxx 1000 share, total loss $500
1/2 buy xxx 1000 share
1/3 sell xxx 1000 share, total loss or gain, what ever
那么这个$500 loss要算么？还是被1/2的buy 取消了？
我用的IB，生成的schedule D 把这个loss算成wash sale了， 所以有一行就只有这个
gain （没有sale price/cost)； 但是import进turbotax premier后这一行的gain（
from wash sale) 没有出现.所以total gain 要比IB给的schedule D表少(比如少这 |

还是不太明白？
我是这样理解IRS的wash sale rule：
如果不考虑wash sale rule的话，我的股票应该是总共亏损了$1000。由于IRS的wash
sale rule只是用来defer这些亏损的tax，而不是要取消或者减少这些亏损本来应有的
退税。所以，用了wash sale rule, 最后我还是应该有$1000的亏损可以退税
是不是我的理解有误？
如果按照你下面的算法，我是不是只有$300的亏损可以退税？

selling the call and buying back the stock does not.
Since buying the call already trigger the wash sale, what he can do now is
selling the option and buying back the stock. In essence, the wash sale is
all closed and buying back stock while selling the call does not trigger the
stock sale.

SCH D和8849的instructions,还有pub520说只要有wash sale 就必须填column (g)么？
还有，假设没有wash sale rule的话，我总共的loss是$1000。irs的wash sale rule
是不是只是用来defer tax for the loss from wash sale? 那么就算用了irs的wash
sale rule, 我最后的loss还应该是1000（可以退税）？为什么变成了$650呢？

自看一看。yard sale要早起才容易淘到好东西，moving sale 常常容易找到便宜又好
的东西，早上在clayton 拣到一个书桌，一个台灯，一打从没有用过的还在原来包装里
面的茶杯茶盘。中午决定去富人区转转，顺便参观一下豪宅，一般yard sale，只开放
garage，但是moving sale 开放的却是整个house。 东西真是多呀，摆的满满的， 其
中一家是两个老夫妇，已经在那里生活五十年了，一共有7个子女，最后一个小孩子结
婚后他们决定搬走，从房子和屋里的摆设来看，足见主人家当年的富足。男主人一定是
个品酒迷，basemen 还有个藏酒室，不过吧台都拆调了，只有半扇门孤零零靠在墙边。
几十个case的红酒杯，很多居然还没有被打开过，还有很多的品酒和cooking的书籍，
主人家看来还是个美食家。各种杂志分类按年摆好，居然还有七十年代的playboy，打
字机打出来的主人的名字和地址还贴在上面，想想美国这三十年好像没有什么大变化。

据说300个人里面只有1个人抢到short sale，不知道这个统计的真实度有多少，如果是
真的，我就
是那1/300。现在想想，只是觉得自己运气好。不过还是有很多经验和教训可以和大家
分享。
首先说说我对short sale的浅薄的理解，简而言之，就是由于房价下跌，现在房子的价
格比卖主欠
的房贷要低，如果卖主在一定的期限内找到买家，成交价格被银行批准，而且可以在期
限内成交，他
和银行就两清，银行承担损失，不然房子就被银行收走，变成for closure。
买short sale的第一关就是房子在市面上的时间短，买方需要在很短的时间里面决定这
个房子是不
是自己想要的。我的房子open house是星期六下午，卖方星期天中午就截止收报价。
下一步就是决定价钱，去买short sale的人决大多数 |

$5W左右, SHORT-SALE时间长, 价格最后的决定权在LENDER. 即使6个月后LENDER批准了
ASKING PRICE, SHORT-SALE基本都是AS-IS, 如果SELLER再欠些PROPERTY TAX或SELLER/
SECOND LENDER要些CREDIT,价格上一点便宜都没有,还操心,不合算.
SHORT-SALE的黄金时期已经过去很长时间了(当时LENDER担心FORECLOSURE的LAWSUIT费

、PM、markeing以及上帝们（客户们）打交道。就我自己的经验教训，谈谈我的一些粗
浅体会。
下面这几条是我认为在类工作上必须或应该具有的，然后你可以根据自己的特点分析是
否喜欢和胜任这类位置。
1、语言及表达能力：这个不用多说了吧。对所在国家文化的了解非常必要；
2、自信：有没有强烈的自信心，是否喜欢这类挑战性的位置，敢不敢且善不善于在不
同的场合打开局面，有没有cold calling的能力；
3、Comunnication skill and relationship:这也不用多说吧。这是重中之重，如果这
方面有很好的优势可以在一定程度上抵消做为外国人在语言及文化上的一些劣势；
4、洞察力及前瞻能力：主要是两个方面。一是针对于现有的及将来的market，再有就
是对于别人（客户及自己的上司和同事们）心理的洞察力。当然这主要靠经验积累。对
于一个新人，这方面的潜力有多大，基本会决定自己以后在这条路上能走多远；

看了几个试车贴，又是335又是保时捷，都是好车，居然sales也不在乎，不坐上去就让
车被开走了。我
从来没遇到过这么好的事情，有的时候开个is250连高速都不让上。sales坐在后排滔滔
不绝，随便绕
两圈就让回去了。
请问你们开啥车去试335的，穿啥衣服，戴啥手表，骗人家啥时候买车。
诚心请教如何甩掉sales独自试驾，我想自己一人上高速开两把对车的认识要好多了。
