to continue to work in your area." => It is correct.
For I-485 approval, you need to have a legal status in US. Self-employed is
NOT a legal status in US.
Also, your need to have an "employer", beause NIW is still the "employment-
based" immigration petition, and the employer should be a US company, not
yourself or your own company. |

花了两个星期，写了一封12页的请愿信。看了一些模板觉得不够个人化，所以用朴素的
语言介绍自己的背景和专业。在信中讲到对于科学的热情，我的老婆喜欢呆在美国，三
岁女儿也喜欢这里。让移民官对我有感性的认识，有血有肉。着重谈自己的研究之重要
，美国虽然富裕，但1/5的儿童生活在贫困线下。这些儿童从很小开始就出现认知、语
言和记忆方面的滞后，甚至情绪和人格上的障碍，让人痛心疾首。我的研究正是通过大
脑成像去了解这些滞后和障碍，重要性不言而喻。
个人认为，不应该把整个案例简单抽象成发了几篇文章，被引用了多少次，影响因子是
多少，审了几次稿。这些固然要提，但要更要举例子，讲故事，显示软实力。晓之以理
，动之以情。我把我的信给了一个大学没毕业的美国犹太老头看，给老婆看，他们都说
通俗易懂。联系现实情况，比如我就提到正好50年前，约翰逊总统向贫困宣战，但现在
美国正在输掉这场战争（至少没赢），形势严峻。最好不要用专业术语，但要让外行人

1. EB1A如果是雇主支持的话，通过率和self petitioned的EB1A有什么区别吗？ 还是
说如果有了雇主支持，EB1A对申请者contribution的要求就会低一些？
2. 雇主是个non profit的hospital，然后这个hospital是affiliated with a
university。 (非tenure track，非faculty)的hospital的员工在EB1B（EB1-OR）申请
过程中还需要提供雇主雇佣3个以上full time researcher （以及research
accomplishments）的证明吗？

可是如果职业照实写，就是在上海，和老家地址不一样了。
不过我确实一直做兼职的翻译，也就是 self employed，自己接活的那种，这个不受地
址约束，能把这个写在last occupation abroad上吗？会有麻烦吗？
面签时上海的单位给了工作证明，不过签证馆没有收走，应该没有记录吧。
