发帖数: 6158 | 1 2003 Toyota Matrix自动档，10年8月买入的时候51000 miles，现在76000。前两天换
机油时被推荐换transmission fluid和serpentine belt，于是回来自己大概看了一下。
transmission fluid液面在冷车状态下就在hot的位置，颜色确实很暗，stick上还写着
一般驾驶条件下不要换ATF；serpentine belt内侧确实有crack，均匀分布，crack之间
间隔粗略估计不到1cm吧。
原车主估计都没换过这些东西，现在是不是到改换的时候了呢？需要的话serpentine
belt自己买一个换上应该没啥问题，transmission fluid就感觉比较复杂了。是不是这
种迈数的车以前没换过就不要再换了，就怕换了之后还更缩短变速箱寿命了。。。

200$。
开了40000 mile，现在加速时皮带有时候又有点吱吱响，准备自己动手换一根，顺便润
滑一下轴承。看了haynes，youtube和原厂手册，感觉v8确实有点麻烦，皮带正对着风
扇，空间有点小，还要拆ignition coil。200$也make sense。
现在的v形serpentine belt上又加了横向槽，看起来是防滑用的。影响皮带寿命吗？哪
位大虾有经验？ |

网上这里说的是：
“Crack across the backing are acceptable. Cracks parallel to the backig are
NOT." 像是说裂纹垂直于皮带方向可接受，平行于皮带方向不行。

audi的parts真他妈的贵，不过这是我范懒了。要不直接从http://www.autohausaz.com/买的话能便宜一半。不过换的真是时候，serpentine belt已经从中间裂开了，有20工分的样子。
还找着了换档jumpy的症结，engine mount已经不行了。就从网上订了2个oem的，今天
就送到了，比从dealer那里买便宜一半。下星期换 |

滑更厉害了呢？
现在明白了：serpentine belt通常有tensioner，给绕在各个零件上的皮带一个
tension，保持摩擦力。皮带老化以后变软失去弹性，这时我不把皮带拆下来，直接喷
dreassing，皮带变得更软更长，最终失去tension，从而失去摩擦力。 |

开始的症状是车打不着，即使jump也没用。考虑到车车的电池这么久了，也没换过，就自己换了新电池。好了，车于是能启动了，但是power
steering又罢工了，电池灯也亮了。上网查了一下，怀疑是serpentine belt出问题了，果然是这个belt断了。然后买了个新的belt换上，但是车依然打不着。糟糕的是，后来又陆续试了几次，还是不成，而且新的belt也断了。
昨天下午把车拖到一个修车铺（在yelp上评价不错），今天人报告出来了，说是空调压缩机的pulley坏了，把belt磨损了，整个空调都要换。由于我这款车的空调压缩机在engine下面，拆卸/安装是如何麻烦，于是总要价接近$1400。懂行的同学们，帮我看看，这靠谱吗？这老车还值得花大价钱修吗？

了coupon，并且扣掉了 core charge.
换的原因是最近听到发动机皮带那里有噶啦噶啦的声音，我初步怀疑是alternator.
后来开到一个garage，他们说是alternator里面的弹簧断了，alternator外面能看到金
属粉未。后来又问公司的一个会修车的人，他把他的听珍器借给我, 让我确认一下。这
个听诊器很好用，能很清楚地听到部件里面的声音。
换的过程费了些周折，不过还好。如果你的belt tensioner 不容易够的到的话，你可
以去租个 serpentine belt release tool. 你可以看我的别外一个贴子，在第二页。 |

然后高高兴兴开到auto zone去还工具，结果半路上等红灯就熄火了一次
从autozone回来的路上彻底死了。怎么打都打不着了，车就crank一下，然后就没动静了
叫同学来jump也没用。而且可能打火过猛把starter烧糊了
哪位大牛有经验指点一下是什么问题啊？
网上有人说是crank position sensor的问题，靠谱吗？ |

my old car and it only took a few minutes. With the right tool, it's a
matter of minutes.
Replacement of a tensioner is a different issue, which requires the removal
of a few blocking parts. But it's still within reach of DIY. I don't think
you need to change tensioner (it's rear with the need to change tensioner).
You can change the belt first and see if that solves your problem. |

现有些belt已经烂掉了。打电话叫AAA拖车。。。等拖车把车挪走后，还在停车的地方

非让我换serpentine belt，就换了。换了serpentine belt后，开了10几分钟高速回家
，然后车就没有动过。
周五下午在高速上开了应该有30分钟左右，突然gas paddle 踩不动了，engine
service soon的灯亮了，车在减速，只好打紧急灯，下高速。停车，重新开动后，一切
正常，gas paddle works，但是engine service soon的灯一直亮着，就去1mile左右的
autozone去查，error code是APP Sensor的问题，只能去dealer那里修。到dealer那里
，快下班了，dealer说周二才来看。
今天中午打电话的时候说在看是什么问题，到时候通知我。下午快6点的时候说是APP
Sensor松动了，修好了，也test drive了，没问题，要付钱。我问为什么会松动，是不
是换serpentine belt的时候碰到了什么或是影响了连接的cable，dealer说这是正常的

发帖数: 141 | 38 一个月前车祸之后换了右前悬挂，之后感觉方向盘操控起来稍有一点点不同。
上周在路上跑着跑着坏了个Pulley，断了serpentine belt。修的时候发现另外有两个
pulley有问题。三个pulley一共换了两个，另一个去掉了，因为Saab的人跟我的
mechanic说其中一个是不必要的，所以就省钱没装上去。现在是一条新的但是比原来短
的serpentine belt。
换了之后只是取车回来那天开了一次，感觉没大区别。今天第二次开，出门的时候在家
门口踩着刹车等着上路，然后突然觉得车子好像被什么顶到了一下。之后今天一路上都
觉得方向盘转90度以内的时候，阻力突然比过去小了很多。
是哪里又坏了呢？还是新的serpentine belt“被磨合好了”呢？谢谢各位指教。

发帖数: 766 | 44 I don't think it is good idea to use WD40 for serpentine belt. It is not
recommended to use any lubrication for the belt -- it will cause problems
for the belt-driven accessories like water pump, power steering pump,
alternator, etc.
If you hear noise from serpentine belt, it is usually because the belt gets
loose, you can either adjust and tight up the belt (if it is manual
adjustable) or you have to replace a new one (for auto ajustable ones). |

Serpentine belt 超级好换。关键是找到tensioner. 但建议换之前拍张照片，生得忘了怎么个绕法（hood 上应该有简图的说)。
Drive belt也不难换，这种皮带一般借助alternator, 或者power steering作为
tensioner. |

搞错了，试车把发动机total了，准备给我赔一个二手的发动机装上去，只用我付谈好
的换timing belts的钱。总共400。原先是11万迈的2001的mirage, 现在这个人告诉我
他们买的发动机是6万迈的，说比我的原先发动机要好很多什么的。现在我开他们给我

车铺给我换的发动机他们没有调过mileages? 印象中这个可以调的。
2. 如何确定这个发动机是好的，原先的highway/local mpg 27.3 有没有什么办法测试
这个发动机的状态和历史呢？比如这个发动机原先的车的历史？发动机号码可以查到
vin吗？
3. 我付钱中的配件包括tension-er和serpentine belts,按照常理他们应该把这些配件
给我吧，labor当然是该我付的

生过。当时去 dealer 那儿查，说是 serpentine belt 坏了，修好了。
自己把车子打开看了，一共有两个 puelley 带动 belt, 尖叫声是从后面一个 pulley
发出来的。我现在买了 serpentine belt, 还需要买后面的 pulley, 后面的一个
pulley 是 tensioner, 还是 idle pulley 啊？ 我 search 了半天，也没搞明白。还
有人说可能是 alternator 的 pulley 坏了。
请问这儿懂车的朋友们？实在不想买错 pulley, 前面那个可能上次 dealer 已经帮换
