distribution的server就用比较差点的配置。你说的临时的server是指distribution
server还是指临时的subscriber server？ 一个publisher只能有一个distribution 的
，用临时的distribution server 也是相当中断，然后还是要重新sync的 。 如果是指
subscriber端的server，可以临时顶替用下（数据不是最新的），不过离线upgrade
distribtuion的话，再放回去，还是要重新resync 数据了。 |

2张DVD拷回来的数据用SAS做分析，家用的PC简直跟死机了一样，所以上Server是必须
的。另外现在的电影，电视剧，照片，家庭录像，MP3越积越多，还都舍不得删，几个1
.5T的硬盘已经不够用了，备份也是一个大问题。目前机箱已经相中了一个：

统硬盘，有上2块SSD做RAID0的必要吗？还是上万速的STAT或SCSI？

我想知道主要怎样系统地 measure 一个 message server, 比如有哪些主要测试工具 (
jmeter, tsung 等等，他们的优劣), 主要需要测试好哪些 measurements (e.g.
messages/sec, connections/sec, kbits/sec ...)
message 可以是自定义的。 e.g. JSON over TCP, 甚至 UDP
也可以是 HTTP messages。其实一直没有定量研究和测试过 HTTP 跟 自定义的 简单
message 包比较起来，到底有多 heavy, 延迟高多少，处理能力要额外耗费多少。
琢磨着 build 这样一个 server，收发大量的 messages. 不是只针对 server hosts
端内网的，也便于从公网上收发 messages. 比如就当 HTTP server 或者 gaming
protocol server 用。

试着用用。目前设置是512 fps，没人的时候看着还是挺稳的，不知道人多了怎么样。
我想弄成1000 fps，不过貌似被芯片组限制了（必须要intel cpu + intel chipest）。
比赛config设置跟rcon都跟现在的server一样，地址是mitbbskz.no-ip.org:27015。
另外KZ server我挪到了27016端口，暂时没开，2.4G的cpu，512M内存跑两个server有
点够呛。先看看你们scrim的效果如何吧。
最好谁能再捐条512或者1G的内存，那样会好很多。别看别人，jah，说你呢。
如果这个效果不错咱们就不用掏钱租server了哈哈~ |

以Unix类系统为主。我有一年开会时看展览，大约七八年前，和MS搞

就没人用来做cluster/grid computing呢。我当时心想，大家在Unix上
搞了几十年的parallel/distributed computing，并行计算平台都是
Unix系统，MS才做了几年啊。

用ACCESS 2000 数据库,每一个注册用户拥有自己独立的Access数据库, usr1.mdb,
usr2.mdb... 如果假定这个网站可能有1万个用户,那么最后会有1万个MDB file. 每个MDB
file size可能从1M 到1G不等.
问题1: 如果100个用户同时上站,SERVER打开100 MDB file 会不会死球?

and find out I need to use sp_addlinkedsrvlogin. However, when I run it (with
correct inputs) I get,

The server 'remoteServerName' does not exist. Use sp_helpserver to show

1. 有钱的话， 用third party replication tool, 比如sysbase, golden gate， 都
支持oraclt to sql server replication, replication到一定时间， take oracle
offline, 保证data 全部replicate到sql server, stop replication, bring sql
server online
2. 没钱， 但是不缺人的话， 自己写code, 用log miner cdc 自己读oracle redo log
, 先做一次 one time full load, 什么tool 都可以， bcp, ssms, ms也有个工具，
然后用log miner 把delta change dump到一个table, 然后把replication 以后change
一个一个merge sql server table, 到一定时候， bring oracle offline,把delta

每个server有一个AMD Opteron 6174 Series Processor
Processor有12个core
在farm中有若干VM，其中一个VM装SQL Server Standard 2008 R2
这个VM的task manager能看到4个logical CPU
好，问题来了
1. 如果VM固定在server 1，是不是应该买4/12 = 1/3 -> 1 standard license
2. 如果VM会在某天因为server 1 work load高，run在server 2，是不是应该买2
standard license

of the load balance cluster group.

server上装2008 R2 SP1, 然后可以创建 win7 client virtual machine w/ RemoteFX
enabled.但是装的client也需要license.具体得看微软网站。
server的一个方案，是可以装server core,没有图形界面，那个好像是免费的。然后用
远程管理，也还是很方便的。还有个特别的server core叫hyper-V core.你可以看看 |

experienced an overwhelming high volumn of users. my ftp
server is just
not good enough for so many users, so I decided to upload
everything on
my server to gerdo's ftp server. just now I shut down the
ftp server
and started uploading to gerdo's server.
hopefully I can get this done by this afternoon since there
are 780mb
stuffs.

对于特定用户，比如A
我希望用A自己的ID 加载A自己的私人目录 //server/A/
然后用一个大家共用的账号加载//server/Share/ 目录，这样大家在这个目录创建的文
件都有全部的读写权限
问题是，我用A的ID加载了//server/A/之后，就不能用另外一个ID加载//server/Share
/了，每次都让我重新输入id，密码
我怀疑是不是window连网盘，一个server就只能用一个ID？

1. 在Windows上安装Xming server, 和xming font：
https://sourceforge.net/projects/xming/files/
2. 在windows上启动xming server，它会自动缩为一个图标。
3. 用mobaXterm或putty登录远程server，修改.bashrc，加上：
export DISPLAY=XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX:0.0
其中xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx是windows的ip address
4. 然后就可以在mobaXterm或putty里面启动比如firefox或者eclipse，界面会在
windows里面的X server里显示。其原理是这些软件会去找DISPLAY,而这个display现在
被设定为windows上的x server，所以界面就回到windows上来的。
这个方法不需要在远程server上安装GUI。我觉得很好。
我回头试试看在远程VPN的环境下速度如何。

结论：没有明显区别
2）SiSoft Sandra 2004
Win XP Pro Win Server 2003

发帖数: 145 | 48 我用condor在若干个windows2003 server上发送了7个程序.开始发现有5个程序被送到
Server A,剩下的两个送到了Server B.过了一会儿,突然发现我被locked out.我不能
log in任何一台server,全被locked out了.
每个程序都要从一个linux server上频繁的读文件. 运行了一会儿,还发现其中几个程
序突然不能从那个server读文件了,而剩下的几个却好好的.
我问administrator,是不是samba有连接个数的限制,被告知没有.
请问,这到底是什么问题, 怎么才能解决?

全都是Fresh Install然后Defrag，关闭了大多数不必要的服务
Win Server 2003没有设置为任何Server
测试：
1）内存占用
Win XP Pro 95M
Win Server 2003 98M
结论：没有明显区别
2）SiSoft Sandra 2004
Win XP Pro Win Server 2003
