给我个BIG PICTURE
老板最近交给我一个软件，在SGI上跑的，可以做一些简单的
3D建模，是另外一个研究小组写的（现在已经找不到乐）
用的很别扭，首先，文件格式问题，我想把建模的结果
拷屏显示出来，发现真费劲，SGI上软件很不好使，拷屏出来的
图象面目全非，我用的是XV
其次，编程实现问题。老板自己对变成所知了了，竟然想让我也弄一个
类似的软件出来。我的天，我以前都是用VC编程，现在叫我在
XWIN下面设计软件，是不是难度比较大呀？！可以供参考的资料少，
而且 UNIX下编程的调试功能一般，真不知道从何下手。
我现在还没有弄清楚在SGI上做的必要性，请教搞3D的大侠一般都是用的什么工具

再被一startup收购，然后startup 改名SGI, 现在似乎还在苟延残喘,早就不做图形了。
不过那里前员工现在都以图形学专家自居，似乎过得还不错。 |

我不会用SGI，就把文件都考到我的pc上，修改完以后，
我就把原来SGI上的那个目录下的文件都扇了，
再把我改好的文件从pc上又考回去。
结果就歇菜了，整个lab page没有了。
就显示一个目录结构：（也不知道是哪个目录里的东西）
大侠们快帮忙啊～～～ 不然死定了。

结果能ping到LAN里的机器，ping不到外边。
下边有俺详细的步骤，ip, 和域名和所有信息都是真的。

is still 1280*1024 and the display is just scaled to fit the
wide screen.
There is no 1600*1024 option in the Display Properity
control panel.
How can add such an option?

the comilation option in makefile is -O -mips4.
It ran very well.
But when I move to SUN blade2000,
I use comilation option:
-fast -xprefetch -xtarget=ultra3 -xchip=ultra3 -fns=yes -fsimple=2
it could pass compilation and generate excutable file. but when I run
it, it always show the fowlling info at the end:

retrieve the data from that machine. However the machine is 100% full and when
I start machine, hard disk is running, but nothing on the screen.
I need to delete some core file in the system. But nothing I can do. before
the crisis, someone tar a file push the system to crash and stupid indian
illegal shutdown the machine kill the system.
by the way, don't buy this crap machine, heavy like a rock and customer
service is bad. |

I am using sgi unix for just a few days. Today I want
to snapshot a program visualization result. All of a
sudden, the mouse cursor turn from arrow to cross. And
the mouse can not activate any other windows. I can
move the mouse cursor, and I can only type in one
command window now. I even can not log out the system.
the possible reasons include I typed "xwd" command
without any options. I hit "Scroll Lock" key in
keyboard by mistake. I may hit other keys but I don't
know.
