11/8 早上飞到Kauai，领导的原计划是去看waimea canyon，不过天气很阴，那边看起来
像是在下雨，北面看起来比较晴，所以我建议还是去看kauai北面。中午吃饭的时候还下
了大雨，庆幸没有去看峡谷。
先去询问了11/9 kayak(独木舟)的问题，看了看okaepa falls
从观景点(overlook)看过去只有这么小：
一路上有些小镇子，很农村化的那种，我们没有停下来或者照像。在公路上面看到一个高
高的瀑布
路上有很多没怎么开发，大同小异的沙滩，有个灯塔和鸟类保护区，远远的拍了一张，没
有交钱过去看
因为下雨的关系，公路上面流水都像小河一样了
快到路的尽头有个山洞
走到洞里面也没有多远
洞外面马路的另外一头就是一个沙滩，路的尽头还是一个海滩
还有个有海水的洞

about how to draft, or tell you to look up every few strokes to stay on
course, but very few seem to deal with the subject in much detail.

签证。还有一种临时的落地签叫Shore pass，日文名称是：寄港地上陸許可（kiko-chi
jo-riku kyoka）。注意成田机场晚上有宵禁，所以无法在机场隔离区内过夜，但是羽
田机场和大阪关西机场为24小时机场。由于近来有许多偷渡者利用这个规则借此进入日
本，因此Shore Pass的现在日益严格，一般来说，航空公司会拒绝给没有日本签证，需
要在日本过夜的乘客发放登机牌。成田机场基本上已经不发放shore pass，羽田机场和
大阪机场还会发放。当然，如果在成田机场因为航班延误的原因需要在日本过夜，那航
空公司依然会协助乘客办理Shore Pass。根据规定，符合以下条件的旅行者有权申请
Shore Pass：
以机票为证，需要过夜，但72小时内从同一机场出入境。
目的地为美国or加拿大or澳大利亚or新西兰，或者由这些国家出发转机前往中国；
持有目的地国家的有效签证；
持有机场附近酒店的住宿预订单；

发帖数: 559 | 32 Cruise订好之后，另外需要做的功课就是港口观光的活动（Shore Excursion）安排了
。实际上，停靠的港口是否有趣，是我决定Crusie行程的一个重要因素。船上的设施再
好，时间久了自然也闷。Cruise利用夜间时间航行，白天靠岸停泊观光，提高了度假期
间的时间利用率，的确是一个很好的卖点。
Shore Excursion的安排主要分为两种：
一，登船后预订Cruise公司安排的Shore Excursion。
官方Shore Excursion，价格自然要贵一些，适合兜里有米而懒得提前花时间提前准备
的朋友。
另外好处听说如果Cruise不是直接靠岸，而是需要小船摆渡到岸的话，订船上观光活动
的会先出发（需要去过的朋友验证）。
热门的shore excursion也要一登船就预订，否则很快就订满了。
二，当地的旅行社
前文提过，因为cruise所到地的经济好多都依靠cruise旅游业，你可以想象到当地有许
多专门依靠这类cruise的旅行社和私人导游，价格上比官方 Shore Excursion有优势，
甚至服务也更好，都会在cruise停靠处安排车接车送，一团的人数也相 |

其实一般评论时大多只说一张照片比较formal，不怎么说你这个是formalism。而且也
并非不注重内容，只是对形式比较追求。
看作品时只看form也被称为formalism倒挺make sense.
我也看到不少称shore formalism的说法。

发帖数: 1570 | 42 同学们，我从国内回来了。今天刚到oakland把行李放在酒店就跑去alameda看了三家公寓
summer house 感觉周围环境不太好，比较杂乱。他家的two bed room的大小和floor
plan还算满意。800左右的sf一个月1600。不过网上看了些review还有这里大家建议不
要住这里。
south shore apartment 刚进就被这里的环境迷住了！旁边是state beach park还有
shoreline。很漂亮！周边环境比summer house好太多！office人也很热情。看了两套
房子，一个two bed room, 一个one bed room. 如果没baby的话肯定住one bed room了
，800多sf一个月1500；two bed room有1200sf，更是宽敞超大。不过一个月要2300刀
。1200sf对于我们三人太大了一点，而且每个月多出600-700，所以比较纠结。south
shore公寓感觉内部也要好一些，有点luxury击apt的感觉，我很喜欢，但是后来看网上
review貌似不好，说什么隔音不好，价格太高什么的。

FOSTER CITY 比redwood shore的好处是生活真方便，超市，餐馆，RANCH 99, 永和，
COSTCO ,TARGET，课后辅导，踢球 都不用上高速。家有小孩老人，还是FOSTER CITY
方便。
redwood shores 除了房子就是公司，买什么都的开出来上高速。2000年的时候，其实
REDWOOD SHORES 要比FOSTER CITY 贵不少尼，现在其实基本持平的两个城市。
我也带着无数人看过BELMONT 和 SAN CARLOS。基本来说，很少有中国人喜欢山上的老
房子。还是喜欢FOSTER CITY/ REDWOOD SHORE的平地，而且略新的社区。
SAN MATEO就是没学区。
MILLBRAE 还是有不错的。不过。。。这个价位恐怕很难。 |

签证就行了？目前我没有计划去温哥华。

The way led along upon what had once been the embankment of a railroad. But
