would do), and then I will be hesitant on whether I should do
529 at all or should just have my children try to get their
own stipend.
Having money saved up in an regular account can be used as a
measure to let the children develop a sense of responsibility,
the benefit of which might overweight the monetary benefit.
529 plan has to be used on education. What if your children
refuse to go to college later? :-)

As long as you filed your change of status (to F1) is filed, you can
stay and go to school. As far as I know, the only problem is that you cannot
receive stipend if you want to work as TA/RA in school before your change
of status application gets approved. (I am not sure whether scholarship/
fellowship fall into this category too.) If this is the case, you might want
to go to Mexico or Canada getting a F1 visa to re-enter the country to

现在在美国收入工资加奖金20万左右吧，每年工资也都在涨，绿卡可能明年才会下来。
以前也没想过海归,也买了房，一直觉得美国过得还挺舒服的，发展上再过几年会有点
瓶颈需要想出路。回国几次都发现国内现在发展确实很好，所以就好奇随便问了一下，
昨天接到个offer，同业对手国内上海office，US pay and bonus也就是我现在的这个
收入，另外再加8.5万刀一年的expat stipend，其他福利如孩子上学等另算。感觉他们
还挺把我当回事。但是放弃现在奋斗的一切就半路回去，而且也是给人打工，又觉得没
办法下决心。 |

司方面ok的话，只要你不上payroll，风险对双方都很低。CPT之前你可以免费干，或者
跟公司讲好把这几天的钱放到CPT开始后的第一个payroll上按stipend或者relo什么的
发给你。

市场上大部分要求有经验的， ICC把人卖给大公司较高的rate做contractor,却给这些
刚毕业的人很少的钱。 从中盈利。 所谓的培训也就是交怎么窜简历和怎么背名词搞定
电话面试。 大部分在bench期间不给钱或者很少的stipend. 很多人刚开始根本没有办
法在客户生存下去， 因为0经验卖做4,5,6,7年经验。 很多一两个月就被客户的项目经
理开掉， 很多人被开好几次才上手。 有些能力强学得快些可能好些， 但可想而知生
存和工作得很压抑。 大部分学习也是在客户那里靠自己， 指望ICC的培训就太可笑了。
最关键是要想跳出那种环境很难。 因为简历造假的厉害， 几年之内想转到大公司做
full time，可 背景调查这关很难过。 比如你做了两年ICC， 你用的简历都有5,6年不
同公司的经历。 可当你加入full time 的时候由于有背景调查，你怎么填写这两年的
经历。 当然运气好的也能从良， 不过大部分就这么一直干下去了。
还有作假是一辈子的事情， 想象不论你当上某公司CEO了， 或者村支书了， 竞争对手

现在大公司的面试官也不是傻瓜，你是真有本事会干活，还是会背几道面试题，人家一
眼就能看出来。没有过硬的本领，只靠假简历，这年头是很难找到项目的。而且，那些
只靠假简历和客户关系的，要是送进去的人老是被退出来，这样的公司客户关系很快就
用完了，公司也就倒闭了。
另外，H1B bench期间不给钱，或者很少stipend的ICC，不能付到H1B prevailing wage
的公司，你去劳工部一告一个准。正规的ICC已不敢不付薪水了。
你还是用老眼光看ICC，完全跟不上时代了。

我发邮件问公司了，但还没有回复。
我这样一问，是不是构成所谓的“counter offer” 而让原offer 自动失效？ 公司如
果不同意，是不是意味着offer就没了？

，但是学校把postdoc当作student来看待，拿fellowship但不算employed。
这样就产生了一个问题：opt extension必须full time employed，那岂不是无法在学
校用OPT extension来继续做postdoc了？

没信。上个月发信让我直接去s on site. 可是lz 因为去年没找到full time， 于是接
着读了master. 告知后就帮我转了hr，给安排了intern 的面试。 整个过程很快，也比
较顺。做了个OA, 完了3天后收到要求店面。 店面完1周给了offer.
想问下大家，housing 如何选择。 LZ 拖家带口，小娃才4个月。
O1。 corporate housing (小娃会不会影响周围房客？）
O2. Hotel
O3. one time stipend, 三档， 估计S 是 2.5刀。 自己找的话，会不会也不便宜？
另外， S 交通怎么样？开车好还是公交方便？ |
