Critical thinking

March 19 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. Senator Orrin Hatch, a Utah Republican, said
Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives are “nuts” to think that
Sunday’s vote on health-care legislation will resolve the issue.
Senate Republicans have enough votes on at least two points of order to
alter the measure and send it back to the House for a second round of votes,
Hatch said in an interview on Bloomberg Television’s “Political Capital
with Al Hunt,” airing this weekend.

There's a lot of talk on cable news (real and fake) about who "won" the 2011
budget showdown.
Grover Norquist, president of Americans for Tax Reform, says the answer is
crystal clear: Republicans won and President Obama and the Democrats lost.
"It's compromise when you move in the direction you want to go to but not as
far as you like," Norquist says. "It's losing when you move in the
direction away from [where] you wish to be."

My kids watched the Jimmy Kimmel Kid's Table Government Shutdown Show on ABC
Network, and what they have learn from it is that killing people is the
best way to solve problem. This is absolutely wrong. Think about it, if you
have kids get such education in school and get taught by the medium, what
would you do? Make an announcement to the kids and tell them what is right,
what is wrong. Do the right things, for your kids, for kids' future!

We Must Not Even Think of Accusing Leonardo DiCaprio of Hypocrisy

Friday’s crash of the Virgin Galactic space-plane in California was, of
course, a tragedy: One test-pilot was killed, and another seriously injured.
But there is, at least, a silver lining: There’s no need to worry about
another possible issue concerning Richard Branson’s spaceflight venture—
namely, that all those internal-combustion-powered flights would contribute
to the dread danger of climate change.

The Fox News poll also laid bare two of Trump’s most significant, basic
weaknesses: Voters don’t think he has the knowledge or temperament to be
president.
The poll findings are striking: Nearly six-in-10 voters surveyed said Trump
doesn’t have “the knowledge to serve effectively as president.” Just 38
percent believe he does.
Trump scored even worse on whether he has “the temperament to serve
effectively as president”: Only a third believe he does, and 62 percent

"The China Bubble's Coming -- But Not the One You Think."
Recent news seems to bear the theory out.

Chinese regulators on Monday ordered banks to ensure unprecedented volumes

If you're looking to buy a used car in the near future, you should consider

which expects to see used car values jump as much as 5% before March and
remain high for the rest of 2012.
January is often a so-so month for auto sales, as many consumers give their
bank accounts a chance to recover from holiday spending. As a result, used-

their oil exports, creating a gap of supply and demand regardless of price
increase.
Peak oil theory is nothing new and is under heated debate

It's hard to say at this stage.
Usually the answer should be treasury bonds. But given the fact that 50%
of treasuries and 80% of MBS were actually bought by the Fed in the last
few months, we just cann't tell how strong or how weak the bond market
can be. That yields a huge uncertain about all other asset types.
At this stage there is not much to say but to watch. Commodities are
very weak recently. That's one of the reasons I think a correction is
