信息申请的，可是你换了visa，那个申请自然就失效了？
现在DOS已经收到我材料，大使馆NOID已经寄出，是不是这会我去签新的J visa的话，
豁免就失效了？
为了让问题更明确，我举个对比例子。有人说如果你持新的visa入境时DOS还没把批完
的信息发到USCIS，那你的豁免就不失效。这是不是错的？ |

是这两者经常混淆。比如这个FAQ：

就说是一回事。
在国内签证的，应该不需要担心同样的事会发生，那里的VO应该是搞得清楚的。
关键是悉尼的VO业务不是很熟,不过还好,他就是让我太太补交一下我的visa stamp而已,
只要等到我的revalidation寄回来,就可以了.
我现在想做的是,在等的同时,想找一些材料来给那边的VO洗洗脑!!!

1. I-156 do not need picture anymore.
2. You can pick up visa from 1:30. Not 3:00 PM by visa officer. I waited to
2;30 and was almost the last one to pick up the passport.
3. It was not difficult to get visa but changing I-94 was really frustrated
waiting. Good thing is that they did not check 30-days requirement to enter
US by F1 visa. |

使馆网站上列了需要的材料的checklist, 比较重要的是: 回美国的有效visa, 行程，
travel insurance,
对于business visa, 需要invitation letter, 而且必须由邀请人直接发到使馆，
过程很随意，vo 是个非常nice的lady, 感觉比美国签证友好一万倍， 如果你所有的材
料都准备齐全，那就非常快了。
按照使馆网站上的说明，所有的材料都必须是 原件＋1 copy, copy件会被收走， 另
外需要两张照片。
使馆网上说，visitor visa 需要十天处理，那个估计是指mail application, 如果亲
自去的话，可以更快，
偶的是四天后ready. 不想再跑一次取签证的话，可以填一个fedex的单子寄到家里。
visa application fee is 85$, 偶是学生去开会，vo说不用交了，赞一个！！ |

我先预约的是十月4日，后来改期了两次。结果不巧的赶上了南加州的雨季。从洛杉矶
到TJ的一路非常的terrible，一路暴雨，路很难看清，2点半离开洛杉矶，将近9点才到
san Ysidro。路上经过san clemente的时候发现不对劲，车很难keep line,方向盘打直
，车会自己偏，我开始一点点觉得是轮胎在漏气，于是下了高速，到了san clemente市
区，然后到UPS问了一个好心的大叔哪里有修轮胎的，结果只有一家叫做big o tire的
地方开。于是开过去，人家巨忙。在我面前有五辆车在等。我从五点一直等到七点，他
们开始要charge 我30块钱，用在人工费和检查维修费，换胎另算。我心想算了，认栽
好了，修好就行。耐心的等到7点，一个墨西哥裔大叔跟我说，一切都正常，是胎压出

首先对于预约到墨西哥签证的新规定,以上链接的帖子里有说明.最关键一点:先交钱后
预约,而且拍照和面签不能在同一天,
也就说至少要在这里住两个晚上,而且在预约签证的时候找ASC和面签时间在相邻两天的
不是很好找,要不断刷(因为可以预
约改很多次),总的签证时间有三天,一天拍照,一天面签,一天取护照.
对于到第三国签证(墨西哥,加拿大不知道),在预约前一定想好确定是要回国续签还是到
第三国签(风险毕竟是有的,所以权衡
再做决定,综合签证类型和专业).
我F1 vsia前年过期,暑假想回国,不满足递签条件,然后又听说国内先交钱再预约,要护
照原件(最后才知道只用复印件就可以,
可以让国内的人帮你交,然后把收据给你,再回去面签),我家比较偏远,想着要折腾,本来
回国也待不了很久,签证就折腾很久,
而且国内暑假预约的人一定很多,不好约.然后我就决定来Tijuana续签,因为之前有同系

According to the new requirement I need to submit 160 form before making a
reservation for interview ( I have only two weeks vacation time in Shang Hai

虽然里面很多是废话，读完后个人理解visa number allocation有两步，第一步是'
check availability'，第二步才是'Get visa number allocated' ，不是很明确每步
时间多长，但看起来第一步貌似是(准)实时的，第二步就不太清楚了，可能会比较久。
如果在IVAMS里面设好一个COUNTRY LIMIT的话是非常容易保证不超发的，但貌似他们并
没这么干，而是rule-based issurance
另外，不懂field office里面关于申请visa number里同时包括'CCD/IVAMS'啥意思，按
照CCD的文档说法，CCD是被动的。

protection的移民官只检查了护照和I-797(均合法,未过期),但是当时我护照上的visa

是美国领土,只是比较特别,有设立移民检查点. cbp.gov上查的最近一次I-94记录了这
次入境.

发帖数: 2 | 47 偶是 Detroit 这边 wayne state 的F1，到美国第一年混混恶恶过去了，现在才想起来
要考驾照。可是visa已经过期了。
我去网上提到的那个detroit downtown 的 super center试过了，人家说我 visa 过期
了就不给我办。我又去wayne state 的OISS问怎么办，人家干脆跟我说，我得去加拿大
或者回国重新签证。
有没有达人可以告诉我，具体哪家SOS可以不用visa，用I20就可以考驾照的？ （我知
道有的同学用过期的visa在detroit这边拿到驾照了。也有人就是在把我拒了的这家
super center拿到的。但是人家是运气好。有的SOS的officer没仔细看passport直接就
给过了。。。但小妹我不一样呀，我是走在大街上被鸟屎砸的那种人，碰运气这种事对
我来说难度太大了~~）
我其他的SSNcard什么的都齐的，就差这个unexpired visa了。
我听说Ann arbor那边有SOS是可以凭I20就办驾照的，打算明天一早就去那边看看，可
是不知道是具体哪家呀。望达人指点。在线等~~~ |

买一辆Mini Cooper,准备申请6个月的Auto Loan，
BMW Finance Center有0.9%的APR，
已经被Approve了，
但是dealer说我们是non permanent resident,
需要出示Valid Visa status，
我和老婆的VISA都是明年年底过期（F1），
dealer说Auto Loan length cannot be long than the valid VISA expiration date,
所以不能从 BMW FC 贷款，
只能从外面银行贷，利息是2.9左右。
请问有没有人遇见过这种情况？
一定需要valid VISA status吗？

现在是opt身份, 明年8月份到期. 打算到时候换H1-B.
A multiple-entry visa is valid for a maximum of five years or one month
prior to the expiry date on the passport/re-entry visa, whichever is earlier.
现在去办的话会不会就是到我明年OPT到期为止还是能拿到5年的?
