software webOS seems to be alive. HP probably planning to make webOS like
Android and license it to others. You cannot make webOS phone while
licensing the OS, it doesn't work. So, kill the hardware, continue with
software, license software. |

A: Shutting down webOS cloud services is part of an orderly end of life
program. HP announced the end of webOS devices (phones and tablets) over 3
years ago but the services were kept running to allow customers to continue
to have a richer user experience. The user count has dwindled to the point
where it is no longer viable to keep the services running. This does not
disable the devices currently running in the field.

是Qualcomm. 现在wp7和webos全都用的qualcomm的芯片, android也有很大一部分是
qualcomm的芯片. 现在还有传言说iphone5和ipad2也要用用Q的芯片,这样下来岂不是Q
一家独大了? 看看Q的股票就知道了,最近一直悄无声息的在涨.
NV和TI在android还有一部分市场,而且也做的不错,完全没有被Q落下,但是webos和wp7
就根本没挤进去了.
之前NV靠着双核火了一把,现在Q也出双核了,竞争越来越激烈了.
另外还有一点不能忽视,好想只要是CDMA的手机都要用Q的modem芯片,也就是说只要是
verizon的手机,就必须得用Q的芯片,这也是为啥verizon版的iphone能翻出Q的芯片.
个人认为,现在最美的就是以Q为首的这些做芯片的,这些os打的越激烈他们越爽. 有点

the remnants of Palm.
According to the HP insider, there are a number of entities wanting to
purchase what's left of Palm, but apparently Amazon is the one closest to
actually finalizing a deal. Currently it's unknown if Amazon will be buying
Palm’s hardware business, the webOS platform, or both. However HP is
wanting to get rid of Palm "as soon as possible," so it's quite possible

2006年离开苹果加入Palm
现在重回苹果。
webOS的notification system做的还是很不错的，我觉得比iPhone的好很多
看来他重回苹果的话，iOS 4.1的时候我们大于可以见到改进的Notification system
UI设计
Overall, iOS > webOS > any Android
希望这些talents回到苹果之后给我们带来更好的UI体验 |
