Now you have to become a VIP member to read next chapters. That means you
need to pay to read. But I think those chapters will be available for free
later.
I remember she played WSOP and got good result. That alone prove her poker
skill.
Her description of MTT process is extremely true.
There are sure some YY, but without that it would not be a good novel.

say, for example, WSOP buy-in is $10000, you're close to money, say top X (
let's say X = 50) pays at least $20000.
final stage, you're in OK shape and in top 35-45, 55 guys left, two guys go
all-in, one big stack who covers you, one low stack who is desperate but
still could cost you 70% chips...
would you really make this call with AA?
yeah, for some pros/high rollers, they play big tourneies every day and may
not care as mush as most semi-prow and ametuers who i guess will find it
very tough.

sure it doesn't. However, if you win, say, a three-way confrontation, you
just triple your chance of winning the final thing, which is a big deal.
For example, suppose the first place prize is 10 M for wsop,
300 left, you have an average stack, that means you have about 1/300 chance
to a shot of 10M, now you win, and your chance becomes 1/100,
, that's already 100 K in a long run. That's certainly still a long shot,
but as long as you keep playing, you may hit your EV sooner or later.

well, i guess for WSOP main event, 90% of players would care much about $10K
. also, that's why a lot of players didn't show up in last year's after they
won local circuit ones and cashed out.
just saw the current issue of Card Player, and "player of the year", "dragon
" pham made about 1.7 millions in 2007 and 11 final tables, so i guess most
of normal pro players won't be as lucky.
i agree with wmwmw, that you throw away a "premium" hand in a risky
situation is not bad. you need to survive fir

I think that's because most wsop $10k entries are from satellites,so they
care cashing. If you play your normal bankroll like $24,$75 token tourment in
Fulltilt, it's totol nonsense to throw away As when you are in bubble
facing allins. You are making a couple bucks at bottom of the money for
hours of grinding. Forget about miracle, you basically got no chance for
winning if short-stacked going in. All people can call you 3xBBs allin and
check it down.

It might be just the opposite. Not many tricks you can exploit in MTT,
bottom line you need to win a bunch of coin-flips for decent payout. Did not
see any FT pros
win siginifcant money in FTOPS and weekly gurantee. Simply hard to survive
the field even so many of them. Even I can knock out pros and got the
bounty twice.
Cash game pros have more advantages.

haha, finished ahead (141th) of scott fischman(?), who finished 179th
without $ (of course, he may not care about this "small" game at all) in a
32k guarantee last week in a field of 1500 ppl.
yeah, coin-flips are the determining factor in many critical hands.
yet i need to learn more about how to play marginal hands, bet size, and
position pushing from pros. i keep track of a few good players at FT and
watch how they play.
especially i want to learn how they play against "us" (average guys). fo
