Bryant的AC和Furnace都从没换过，前年开始AC就漏氟利昂，基本每年都要充一次，考
虑得换了。Furnace目前工作正常，AFUE 80，感觉blower功率也在衰退，打算一起换了。
找了个Lennox的dealer来estimate，给了两个个option：
1.Best, $9000
Lennox EL296UH, 96%, 2 stage, variable speed
Lennox XC-16036, 17 SEER, 2 stage
2.Better, $7500
Lennox ML193UH，93%，single stage
Lennox XC-13036, 13 SEER, single stage
现在还约了两个Trane的dealer下周来estimate，这个月他们家有up to $1000 off的
promotion。
在版上考古了以下，有必要AC和furnace都是two stage么？

有1-2名名额, 住在SKI CLUB(费用相当低), 鉴于他们只有男生宿舍有空位, 这回只接
受男生.

1)负责任
2)最好有车, 到底开谁的车, 周五定. CARPOOL FEE 建议$20(俩天)

关于器材, 新朋友用我们的器材, $5(包括一套东西)一次. commercial 用的比我们好
一档, 大概他们收费是$13-$18.
我们也有几套XC转让, 新的一套$60左右(尺码可能选择不多了), 还可以转让1-2套旧的
, 大概$30-40左右, 这些包括SKIS+鞋+BINDINGS, 不包括POLE(旧的就几块钱). 新的一
套大概能用8-15年. 我们之所以在看到DEAL时买下几套, 目的是让参与者用最低的COST

比如 Breckenridge， Vail，Eldora，Friso，Keystone。
XC的雪道造雪比较少，大多靠天然下雪，所以除了Vail和Breckenridge，其他雪场暂时
都还没开XC，因为最近都没什么大雪，温度也比较高。

发帖数: 5103 | 29 理论上 cross-country 的装备可以套着 ski 向上走，路上能滑则滑，不能滑则拖着雪
板慢慢向上爬。
但这要看地形：很陡的上坡（如上面照片里黑道级别的坡），或者复杂弯曲的小径（例
如在树林里），你那 ski 必须脱下来，否则根本没法走。如果这样的路比较长，而又
没有适合滑的下坡路段的话，穿着 xc ski boots 走远路不舒服，也可能陷进雪里，所
以有人干脆穿 hiking boots/snow boots/snowshoes，而把 xc boots and skis 背背
上。我说的就是这种情形。
所以，是的，cross-country 的脚跟可以抬起来，整体也轻许多，理论上可以穿着爬山
，但还是要看地形。（所以我前面说到，我看过 snow patrol 的高手会带上两种装备
：snowshoes 与 cross-country skis。） |

发帖数: 4883 | 31 见到两拨中国人,有一拨有十个,不知道是不是你说的那一拨.下午跟里面一个park city的男生说了几句话,一伙人回来的时候上坡走的很累.其实底部有shuttle可以回来.
XC lesson只有一个小时. group lesson $54一人包整天pass和rental. private
lesson两个人反而便宜,一个人$64,第二个人$34. 不过我觉得对蓝道的坡几乎没什么用.只有绿道这么平的地方学了平地滑雪比较有用. 似乎第一次学的都是学classic XC skiing. 基本上一开始就在刻好的沟里平行滑. skate skiing还是难度大一些, 动作像溜冰,两脚八字形的滑. |

there is also the 27.5(+) trend. I would prefer 650b wheels because they are
just more proportional. But then again, bikesdirect is a bit behind and is

a bigger thing to me is that the setup seems between xc and trail. It has a

一直想去BANFF，今年CHRISTMAS会有一周的假，请问这时候去ROCKY，是backpacker,
hiking的好时候吗？
答：针对从来没有去过的情况：
冬天Canadian Rocky的路清得很快，很干净，所以开车不成问题，租一个一般的车就可
以了，不一定要 4-wheel drive.
冬天，一般不玩多日的backpacking, 因为天气很冷，除非有过在－20F winter
camping的经验，否则建议晚上住在屋内的单日户外活动。单日户外，可以ski, xc-ski
(Canmore有Olympic level的xc-ski course), hiking, snow shoeing, 泡温泉等。雪
是干雪，所以有一般的hiking boots就可以了。
如果是一帮人去，可以考虑租apartment, 可以去VRBO.com上看看。 |

If you worry about 跑起来起雾, you may try some
chemicals for ski glasses. I used this kind of things
on both my downhill ski goggles and xc-ski sun glasses.
Worked pretty well, especially for xc-ski glasses because
