an 1099-R was issued for 2008.
Within 60 days, the fund was rolled over to IRA in early 2009 and the form
55xx will be issued for 2009 tax year.
Can anyone help? How to handle this cross tax year event?
It would be a pain that one pays tax for the distribution, as well as the
penalty, for tax year 2008 even if he can get it refunded in tax year 2009.

一个statement用来显示你NR期间的收入，不是用来计算退税的，退税的计算用1040，
把全年的收入都报在1040上。5000免税可以用8833，填报-5000在1040的line 21上；
1040的line 39b要选上。

的W2表，仍然是寄到州A的老地址（这个可能是因为我等到年末才意识到公司个人
profile里的primary home address没有更改过来，只更改了mailing address）。
但更奇怪的是，州税预扣的是州A的税（一般预扣的是工作所在州的税吧？）。
现在有几个问题请教一下：
1. 我搬家后似乎应该是算州B的part-year resident，应该对州B来file part-year
resident state tax return。但是这W2表上的地址是州A的，那岂不是默认我在2011年
是州A的（whole-year）resident，而下半年是州B的non-resident，应该对州B来file
non-resident state tax return？
2. 现在预扣的是州A的州税，但是file州B的州税时，如果算州B的non-resident的话，
我州A的州税是不能claim成为州B州税的credit的。那应该怎么处理？总不能扣双重的
税吧？

first-year choice只是从nonresident变成dual status的过程。dual status不能报
married filing jointly。要“进一步申请为full-year R”（用choosing resident
alien status或nonresident spouse treated as resident）才能报married filing
jointly。
resident的期间要报全球收入。所以全年resident要报全年全球收入；dual status要
报resident那段时间的全球收入。
first-year choice只是从nonresident变成dual status的过程。一般单独变成dual
status没有意义，因为dual status不能合报，也没有standard deduction，等，不比

Can I apply another extension?
If your i-485 is based on your spouse's. After your h-1b six years reaches,
can you still apply for another extension, or you can only apply EAD?

I am working at University A. My H1B (the 2nd 3-year) with A will end on (

year（>183 days），但HC的时候，part-year的定义“If you moved into
Massachusetts during 2010”，并未提到183天。故你的情况应该往part-year靠。
